Pfft... I say skip that step! That's where they're going to swirl up your paint and try to convince you that they've done you a huge favor by washing it. LOL!

I say the only 'prep time' that should be needed is for them to get the paperwork together and the time that it takes for you to sign that... Roll it off the truck, sign, head home, wash it yourself the right way.

I would be there right now but the dealer I ordered it from is 180 miles away! Oh well, it will give them time to get all the grime off of it and prep it.
Can't wait!
Its a 2006 XLT Supercab, Medium Wedgewood Blue and Arizona Biege two tone, 5.4L 6.5' bed, tow pkg, 3.73 LS, 17" aluminum wheels and 255 OWL tires, fog lights, power seat, 6 disc CD, overhead rail system, deluxe heated turn signal mirrors, 35.7 gal gas tank, and I don't remember what else!

I am in the market for some AZ Biege wheel lip mouldings(fender flares) if anyone has upgraded theirs to aftermarket. Also looking for suggestions on a tonneau, I am seriously considering the Extang Full Tilt for $293 delivered.
I have a spray in bedliner all lined up as well as a Magnaflow muffler and tip. Next is either a 2" front levelling kit or 2" drop shackles to even it out. Then probably some better speakers and thats about it for now!

LOL,I took delivery of my truck one week ago. While I was signing my life away the dealer and manager told the lot boy to take my truck to get it washed.I said no that's ok I don't want it washed. They said we always wash new vehicles when people take delivery.I said no that's ok I'll wash it at my friends auto detail shop when I get home. They looked at me like I was from Mars.I didn't want them to scratch it or make swirls on the paint.

The dealer prep on mine included a full tank of gas. They had that thing shining like a new dime....the first thing I said to myself when I saw it was "Ohhhhhh Maaannnnn" I think I repeated that about a dozen times as I hopped out of my 20 year old beater truck.

Congratulations on the new ride!

Its a 2 wheel drive so I am not sure whether to go up 2" in front or down 2" in back? I would like to see more pictures of both on a 2WD. I probably won't change the factory tires 'till they wear out so will probably go down 2" so I don't have a huge empty wheel opening. But who knows, that may change by next week!

Nice truck Justis01 ! You don't happen to work in a water plant do you? I see the tanks in the background of your pictures. I have been in water/wastewater treatment for 32 years. What tonneau do you have and do you like it?

Thanks!
The tonneau cover is made by Tonneau Masters. It's called a 'hinged slant side' or something like that. I'm very happy with it and it even improved my gas mileage by about 1 mpg on the highway.

Congrats on your new truck. I too bought my truck from a dealer about 40min from my house, who inturn had to go to South Carolina to get the 4x2 I wanted in the right color with the right options. Not many dealers in VA keep 4x2's on thier lots. But when they got it here I went up to the dealership and saw it in the wash bay for the first time it was the best feeling ever.

I saw my truck for the first time after I signed my life away, but I had them dealer swap it in with just one less option, the sunroof. It's too small to justify 20 bucks a month.
