I keep leaning toward getting one and then falling back away.

I had a top of the line Viper put in my mustang 12 years ago. It cost close to $800. I had to rip it out last year because the wiring is shorted to ground somewhere and causes my battery to drain. These alarms tie in to everything and if one wire works loose it can be a pain to find.

I really want one but I dont want to deal with the headache again.

Im getting an Automate Saturday made by Dei. $425 installed 2 way and one cool feature is when you start the car/truck it tells you the temp inside the car so if its cold/hot you know when its comfertable to get in. Nice when you have to young kids.

I second the below. www.kcautosounds.com was the way I went on my second purchase (ca670) wish I had gone through him before. The prewired unit and vehicle specific directions were the way to go in my opinion.

Travis at KCAutoSound.com has an option to get them prewired for your specific year.
This makes it a straight up easy install, so you don't have to mess around.
I have the Ford Silver ( Ford Brand, and level, don't know the Code Alarm P/N equivelant ) and it works flawless. No problems with no starts, etc. Some aftermarket ones I have read ( in threads here ) either work great, or work hit or miss.

Bit more costly to get the Code Alarm one, but inmy mind worth it in the long run. Also the factory RKE fobs still work with the Ford Branded system ( and I think the Code Alarm ) system. Don't know if this is the same with others ??? Something you would have to check.

Their website is www.code-alarm.com The ca670 is a 2way lsd screen system. The remote will confirm the actions when you press the buttons, as well as alert you if the alarm is triggered. The ca680 system is new and has a new remote that seems a little big in comparison to the 670 but is more durable. As far as the box in the back pin switches or magnetic switches are much more reliable than relying on the impact sensor. For the impact sensor to respond to the box it would have to be turned up so high it would guarantee false alarms.

59 degrees Hahaha

It was like -42 celsius here the other day -54 with the windchill. And that isn't even as cold as it gets.. Man you guys don't need remote starts you just need to live somewhere else for a while and see how good you have it.

Hunting is awesome. Especially for White tails. Moose is O.K. too. Got a Nice 4x4 last year. Scored about 180. Buddy got a 5x5 that scored 198 1/8. Both typical of course. World reacord is also from here. About 2 hours from where i live. I think it was like 213 or 214.
