i have 17 inch wheels and i have had no problem except making the weights stick to the inside of the chrome wheels..i went with the 6" fabtech and the only thing that you have to cut is a small part on the front diff. they provide you with a stencil to do the cutting. have fun and good luck in doing the install

Yes, and you have a 2004. They changed the brake caliper size in 2005...

So since I have the '04, I'll probably be ok?

i got the procomp 6" + bodylift + add-a-leaf
18 " eagle 178's
37x13.5x18 Nitto Mud Grapplers

Trust me, you'll be happier if you save a little more money and go for the big meat. Don't get a 4" lift. If that's all you can do, then just get a leveling kit and squeeze some 35's under there.
Save up about 5,000 bucks and then go all out...you'll get soo many looks

4 wheel parts installed my lift. They only charged me $390. Which, IMO, is dirt cheap to install a lift that takes them all day to do.

Kelmvor- you truck looks bad ***! When my tires wear out I may add a 3" body lift and throw some 37's under my truck.
I know it's not a shot people with a body lift like to show off.... but do you have a pic of your truck from the side?
Can you see a lot of frame?

Anyone know anything about the new RCD lift? I'm just wondering. I bet it is a lot more expensive than any of these others. With any of the 6" lifts, do you have to replace the driveshaft? What kit would I need if I wanted to stay away from replacing a whole bunch of other equiptment but still be safe? Fabtech really seems like the way to go but it is also the most expensive. What is the cheapest BUT safest, most quality way to go? Still also torn on wheel size due to tire/wheel price! I also don't want the tires/wheels to stick out too far. Just enough to look proportional but not destroy my paint.

My speedometer is only 4mph off.
My lift was $2100 Installed with tire mount, balance and allignment and 90 day warranty. Procomp stage 1 6"
My rims were $805- Chrome 18x10 Mazzi Hulks
My tires were $1000- Nitto Mud grappler 35's.
They aren't bad tires, they're loud but not much louder than the BFG's. And a heck of a lot cheaper.
I can't find anywhere with them (mud grapplers) left, they're now on national backorder. What about the rims, did you get those from www.custom-wheels-car-rims.com and the tires from discount tire direct? Those are the only places with those prices I have ever found. My lift is costing the exact same because I am going with the same setup, except for tires. I am trying to get 37's and squeeze them under there, with the coilovers cranked and an add-a-leaf, I'm hoping it won't rub too much.

Just curious, if you did the install you'd know how HEAVY each piece was. That is a LOT of weight being thrown on the truck, at least another 600lbs. Each box I have here is almost 100lbs each, and I have 3 of those. Not including the tires and wheels. Thats like the 5.4 trying to push a Superduty, it can do it, but it's not the most efficient.

These trucks are meant to tow, which basically is the same effect bigger tires have on a truck. I'd say its only around 300 lbs though.

My boxes alone are 300+lbs, fedex tags the weight on each box. You still have to factor in the wheels and tires. Granted, I have not opened the bigger boxes, only one and it had a coilover as well as other junk in it. I can't wait to put it on my truck, just gotta clean out the Garage and wait for those damned tires to come off backorder. How heavy was your 4" kit (I know 5.5", don't eat me). Also, when there is added weight to your tires, it has a bigger effect than if you were throwing it in the bed.
