Help: Edge Update

I figured what the hell why not. Im sick, it'll give me something to do. So, I downloaded the Edge Lightning software on my computer including the update for the software thats listed on Edge's website. I installed the program and the drivers. Now, whenever I try to load the program and hook up the tuner it just reads disconnected. What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing! I ran into the same thing, called Edge support, and they said they were working on the server. Probably setting up the latest updates......

I do not have my Edge yet, but I did download the software and update. Did you try to reinstall the driver after updating the software? Sounds like a possible driver issue.

Mine did the same thing...I had to reload the driver. From what I have read it seems to be a common "issue".

Initially I had updated the software before installing the drivers anyways but than I tried to re-install the drivers. However, XP launches a 'Driver Install' whenever I connect the USB cable. Whenever, I go through with the driver install after it says its completed it says there was an error.

One more question. When I installed the Lightning software and than went on to download the update, I was supposed to replace the existing file named 'Lightning' correct?

WTF!!!

I knew I shouldn't of ruined a good thing by trying to update this damn thing. Now whenever I try to do a custom tune, Im getting a 'This vehicle calibration is not yet supported. Check for updates and call tech support if your version is current.' with an error code of 0xf1

Yup a bunch of times, it will load the tune fine. I just can't customize the program which I need to do for my tires and my fuel. However, Im on phone with tech support.

Good to hear that yours is finally working. I had the same problem as you stated here about the device showing up as disconnected. I did the Edge USB drivers install numerous times to no avail. I finally just used the XP 'Driver Install' and pointed it to the USB folder for the Edge. That seemed to do the trick.

False Alarm.

When I had first hooked it up for some reason the Edge didn't register the stock PCM code was and it wasn't allowing me to change anything in precaution to losing the stock PCM code. I just un-plugged and plugged everything back in and voila now it works! I asked about the timing and they said to leave it at 0 so whatever, who am I to argue?

I had the same problem after the update. The important thing is to always allow 15 seconds or more after the warnings for the unit to read your pcm. If you start the programming to soon it will give you that code.

• ERROR CODE 0xF1 (AFTER PCM READ) – If you are receiving this error
code right after the Evolution reads your PCM, check for updates using the
Lightning® software. If the problem continues, go to the Utilities menu and select
Read Stock Calibration. Then call tech support to take steps to create a new
calibration for your vehicle.
• ERROR CODE 0xF1 (IN CUSTOM MENU) – If you are receiving this error
code while trying to configure your custom options, disconnect from the OBDII
connector, turn the key to the ON position, and plug the Evolution back in. After
getting to the main screen (past Intro and Disclaimer), wait 15 seconds. This will
give your unit time to load parameters it needs to perform the custom changes.
You should now be able to perform your custom changes.

Just curious, what does everyone have their shift firmness set at?

I have my first 2 set at 10 and I left the 3rd one alone.
