Nope, the front could not handle it. I wanted to take a little more stress off the front and I went down to 1.75 inches with my Rancho's.

I went with the 3" Truxxx level kit and yes it is $150 more than the AS but works like a charm. You can install yourself or take it in. I'm glad Freeky and Kevin have seemed to work it out but both are guilty of being jerkaholics in this incident. Glad I didn't go the autospring route after reading that shocking reply from the owner.

Thanks! I guess you'd know all about "jerkoholics". Too bad you bought that overpriced kit and spent $618.56. I guess that makes you an "idiotoholic".

I emailed him to let him know I put a complaint on this board, and here's the email I sent and the reply that I just got from him:

So it makes the front of your truck 2 inches higher? I dont see what the big deal is? Sounds like a hack that Increases ball joint wear, screws up alignment, and throws steering geometry out of whack.

That's a pretty bad email for a part that has about 10 cents in it and little to no engineering time. I was about to order one and have changed my mind.

Thats really too bad.

A piece of heater hoze? Nice engineering...

It would have been "idiotic" for me to attempt to install the kit myself being short on tools and skills in that area. Thus I had the top shop in town do it for me complete with two free alignments. For a $35,000 Lariat the $600 I spent was well worth it in height and ride comfort. I've saved plenty on other mods that more than make up for it. But I do thank you for so quickly proving my point on what a jerk you truely are. Reading through the whole thread I'd say you got what you deserve. Sometimes by paying less you end up paying more (at least more than I ended up paying !!!). Have fun with your "clunkity clunk" tomorrow morning on yer way to work!!!

No offense but hes right! $600+ for a leveling kit, your crazy! Hell, you were half way to a real lift and you wouldn't of had any crazy angles.

??? How is he "right" when he's going to end up paying far more than $600 to get his lifted??? Plus with the Truxxx design you don't have to worry about any so called "crazy angles". It fits and works perfectly. The kit is $300 thus the only thing I'm guilty of is not having the tools or skills to install it myself. So I paid an extra $300 to have it installed by one of our well known top shops in town. They tossed in two front end alignments (one during the install and one I'll use sometime in the first part of 06) as well. Go out and price front end alignments. And how did I pay for it all??? 4 hours overtime on a Saturday morning at work reading this fine F150 forum and other web browsing !!! IOW, I got paid for what most people do in their off time!!!! But thank you for your concern!!!

Paid for by my employer on a Saturday crusing the internet!!! Plus as you now know you gotta end up spending mucho more because you were such a tightwad in the first place. Some mods it pays to go for higher quality while some others you can get quality at a lower price. I'm sure you'll learn that lesson now that yours will end up far costlier than mine!!!!

Leveling kits over extend and stress the lower/upper arms, ball joints and coils it can't be avoided so if these companies claim other wise then I have some land on mars to sell you. The only thing close to stock spec's is a lift kit someone needs to make a 3" lift kit for our truck just like the 6" lift kit that fabtech makes.

Bought the 2" AS ( 1 5/8 " ) in December 05 and have no problems with clunk. Even cruising over speed bumps, cornering etc.. no problems. Supposed to be the new design.. Not trying to stir the pot here but what are you all doing where they "clunk" ?

thanks

I just looked at it on their website and it's no different than the Auto Spring. It changes the geometry on all the front suspension just like any 'leveling' kit. So in my opinion, you got robbed.

He is right. Any leveling kit is going to change the front end geometry to non-ideal.

Toreadox I really think you need to step off your high-horse.

First of all, I have a REAL lift so don't talk to me about how my mod is going to end up costlier than yours. If the Truxx kit is really 1/2" bigger than the 2-1/2" Autospring, your angles are WAY out of whack. Its just a spacer, your going to get crazy angles unless its a very small one. Theres no way around it other than getting a real lift. I'd say you got robbed, anyways see ya see ya!
