Leaf Spring doing strange things

my leaf springs are doin some strange things

Pics.

the top pic is of the Right side and the bottum is the left.. notice how the bottum leaf spring in the top pic is sticking out to the right.. the left bottom leaf spring sticks out to the left just not quite as much.. and also note how the leaf springs are bowing.. both sides are bowing..

taking it to the dealer tommorrow.. has this happened to anyone else?

How much weight were you hauling when you did that? I bet the warranty doesn't cover that!

So i dont get it, just because something you doesnt "look right" there is a problem with it? Id laugh if they say the exhaust is heating them up.

I've had them shift left to right a lot of times. Few whacks with a heavy mallet will shift them back.

Not sure what you're talking about "bowing" though. If you guys will look, I bet all of your bottom springs have less arch in them than the uppers.

If mine weren't in the shop, I'd take a picture of mine for you.

That bottom leaf is an overload, notice how it is much thicker than the other leaves. It doesn't contact the other leaves unless you have a load in the bed.

thanks for the reply's.. point is though she's goin into the dealer tommorrow.. if nothing else they can give me answers.. and from my perspective it looked like all the springs were bowing.. the top 3 more then the bottum but still i know they didnt look like that when i got the truck.. and i havent put a load in it yet so.. and if the dealer tells me the same thing you did about using a mallet ill tell him to start swinging.. and then to tightin it up so it doesnt happen again.. i had an 2000 ranger 4x2 and took it offroad quite a bit and the damned leafs never moved from side to side.. this has happened recently too.. strange thing is i havent put the truck under anything but normal driving conditions.. so im a lil worried

Happened on my old truck. I think the dealer took a mallet to it and put it back in place. No harm, no foul.

Here's a pic of mine. The "bow" is completely normal. Just hit the overload a couple of times with a hammer to line it back up and save yourself a few bucks.

Good luck ! The leaf springs on my 02 SuperCrew looked like that. The local dealer wouldn't do anything about it. I lived with it until I traded it in back in September. If I remember correct my 05 looks similar. I haven't had the chance to get my truck to the dealer...so far though, my gripes that I have taken my truck to the dealer for have fallen on deaf ears.

I hadn't hauled anything in my 02 when I noticed the springs, and I haven't hauled anything in my 05 as of yet.

Best regards!

The side to side deal or the "bow" in the bottom spring?

The shape of that bottom spring is completely normal fellas.

perhaps it is normal but ill let the dealer tell me that.. then ill get it in righting with his name on it... then i'll have him hammer both bottum leafs back into place.. and maybe in the future if they move again ill hit em back myself.. its not right that they can secure these things properly.. or perhaps have a warning or a sidenote in the manual...

thanks for the reply's though
