If you have any trouble, just call Crutchfield. I didn't even buy my headunit from them and they answered all my questions!

Will do. I'll be waiting for the mailman everyday starting Feb 6th. Unless I have a job by then, God willing.

Sounds great. I'll be doing the same timing with the speakers. After that I would like to get a small amp and a small sub in there somehow. I heard of a guy in here who put the amp behind hes rear seat in hes screw. Looks good.

I don't want anything load and over the top. I just want it to sound desent in the inside of the cab.

ya think we'll be able to hook up the new HD wiring harness to the existing wires to the factory speakers. Or is the wiring harness meant to be re-wired to the speaker terminals? I really don't know what I'm getting myself into, doing this. I figure I need to learn anyway.

Do you mean the HU (head unit?). The wiring harness has to be connected to the wires in the back of the CD player. THen the harness gets plugged into the stock harness. It's pretty simple.

No it isn't.

Why did you go Alpine? Did they really make improvements for the new model?

I like the new models better than the old ones. They did away with that stupid touch bar for the buttons and on the one I got there's not alot of chrome like there was on this years models, so it'll match my interior better. The major selling point for me though was the Full Speed iPod connector. No more stupid $100 box to use the iPod and it's 200% faster now.
And besides, Alipne is the best for head units as far as I'm concerned.

The full speed ipod is nice I guess.

The removal of the slide bar is great.

Little to no chrome is great also.

It still only has 2V PreOuts which sucks IMO.

The 2V PreOuts aren't a big deal to me because all I might be hooking up to it is an Alpine amp and 10" sub that I took out of my Ranger. I just need to save for a nice speaker box now.
