How big of a hole do you need to drill for each light? Any fear of leaking water?

Looked for the pics of your "look-Good & Go fast mods".... yet no linky....

Seems you bought a pick-up to "go fast".... Some might consider that more silly than clearance lights on a pick-up truck similar to what is available on the super-duty's....

I for one like em and want to do the mod. Personally I am not a fan of making a 2wd pickup "fast" Thats what Mustangs are for, But hey thats just me...

btw... I'd love to see a pic of your "truck"

Maybe if you have them on and you try to go through a drive through thats too low you will know its too low when you knock them off???

I think the law about them having to be on trucks towing wide loads makes more sense as to why big trucks have them. Not that the law makes sense, but the fact that the law exists explains why they put them on dulleys from the factory.

AS you SLOWLY aproach a clearence the lights right before you hit the overhang will cast a dim but definate shine on it indicating you better get out and look.....

Your Antenna on your f-150 kinda does the same thing I found out... lol

Dumb question...

Do the 2004 f150's have a single or dual sheet metal roof? (What I am getting after is, when these lights get installed do you drill through both sections or is there a gap between the first and second roof (Like my 1977 Dodge).

Dumb question, flame away.

To me, they give you a MUCH better idea of the size of vehicle that is coming towards you. Also, if I were on a narrow road I'd watch for a big azz box or trailer behind said vehicle. The above pic shows what I mean....

Plus I think on alot of trucks they looks cool, and that is purpose enough alone!
Aaaah, not exactly correct, the cab marker lights in the 1-3-1 configuration are to let oncoming traffic know there is a 80-102 inch wide vehicle (truck) approaching. I don't believe it has nothing to do with "height" you can't see them from inside while driving. That is unless you are following a Beneto Fuel Tanker and you could probably shave/pick food outta yer teeth in the reflection from the back of their tankers. The old configuration (and I DO mean old) was a marker light on the front top corner of the cab. Later the regs changed to have the 5 across, one on each corner, three in the middle. At least that was how it was explained to me years ago when I drove truck for a living. That said, I ended up with a set of markers on my 1990 F150 after a kid dented the roof and the dents were correctly spaced and covered by the Ford lights of that era. Not only did it look good, it vastly improved visability to oncoming traffic especially in a snow storm. I got a lot of complements on them as well as I had to explain it wasn't a F250-350 frequently. Regards, Bob.
