looks pretty good, actually have to comment the guy who used chevy ones on his truck, they look pretty good too
I liked the older style (pre-97) clearance lights, as they are more "squared off" and look better than the roundish ones, in my opinion on the newer trucks
looks sharp

Lights for width, not height

Plus I think on alot of trucks they looks cool, and that is purpose enough alone!

These lights are mandated by the NHTSA for trucks/trailers exceeding 80" width. The three lights in the middle indicate a wide load, and the outside lights indicate the widest point. These are typically added to heavy duty trucks which presumably are used to pull wide trailers. I think they are required on dually trucks because of their width, but I'm not sure.

I think the law about them having to be on trucks towing wide loads makes more sense as to why big trucks have them. Not that the law makes sense, but the fact that the law exists explains why they put them on dulleys from the factory.

They arent bright enough to illuminate anything infront of you at cab level...at least not until its too late. Maybe if you have them on and you try to go through a drive through thats too low you will know its too low when you knock them off???

looks Great!!! This is one mod i have been planning since i bought my truck last year and have just not gotten around to it. I love clearance lights on trucks and really wish they offered them on the F-150 still. I own a truck and want people to know its a truck coming down the road from a mile away!
I personally like the look! Wish it was available as a factory option.
Would be cool if they could integrate a satelite radio antenna into the center light. Then it wouldn't look stupid like the GM products.
Regards!

While you guys are at it why not put some on the hood, or maybe ontop of the side mirrors? Or even get some stacks for your exhaust and the reflective tape going around the base of the truck with the reflectors too? And then you could all quit your day jobs and be wanna be "f150 truckers"

pre 1997, they were the same, so it was a special order option
nowadays, special order is really useless, as all the options are grouped together and there are tons of restrictions

Why would I do that? I have a freightliner to drive already. (Well not a semi, but its still a freightliner and still makes the 150 look like a toy)
I do like the look though. Considering I tow a long wide car hauler alot I might add them. More because I like the look though.
I dont think they look as tacky as the painted to match brush guards and the 22"+ wheels and the chrome door handles that most of the people here have.
