I think Im done to these two for the fronts. .

- Infinity Reference 6810cs
- Rockford Fosgate Punch P1682S

Now the back is a different story. I'd like to order from Techronics so if you could help me pick out a set of backs, that'd be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind, Im going to be doing Dynamat Xtreme on the doors.

I know, right? I've never run new speakers without some form of extra power/filter. I'd like to delay my install as long as possible, because I hate running the power line, ground wire, and remote turn on lead. Then you've got to run new speaker wires through the door jam boot and re-wire everything.

It's a pain, but well worth it.

On a side note, where did you mount the crossover boxes for the Utopias? I'd love to see some pics of that install! The Focal K2s had a HUGE box that I eventually just put into the glove box of my last Mustang...

Check my gallery. I have 3 of the crossovers on the back wall behind the seat and one up front in the drivers door, because of the damn new wire plugs in the door jams of these new trucks, I could only get one run of 12 ga speaker wire through it.

...and how many explatives were voiced when trying to get through those wire plugs?

Did you run monster cable 12-gauge (which has absurdly thick insulation) or another brand? I'm trying to plan my own install with the LEAST number of headaches as possible (if that means different cables, then so be it).

The box is customed (and have to use the LMI 2.5 seat lift) The subs are rated at 750 watts RMS each. I loss track of how much everything cost. LOL The subs can be had for about $550-$600 a pair (I can get you a used pair for about $350). You will need a powerful amp to power them...they are REAL hungry!

I can turn these up as much as I like and they don't ever seem to distort. Always keep clear and crisp. The bass is ok, it isn't out of this world. The only way to get GOOD bass out of small speakers like these is to get those more $$$$ ones and amp them. They do have a clean punchy bass though, but I have a 10" MTX thunder under the rear seat to make up for the rest

EDIT: Oh and one side note, if you get these, I recommend putting the tweeter in the -2dB plug because the tweeters seem to overpower the midrange speakers if put in the 0dB slot.

If I remember correctly, I got the white Stinger 12 ga cable. I thought it looked cool, like a extension cord. LOL

To run speaker wire through the door jam plugs is a PITA! I had to drill holes in the recepticals that weren't being used.

I replaced all of mine with 5x7 alpine type R's. They are two ways. I am running just the stock non audiophile HU and they saoud great. I can turn them all the way up with no distortion. I know these speakers can handle a lot more power and I might amp them later but so far I love them. A little pricey but when it comes to audio, you get what you pay for. I am also running a 10" Kicker Comp VR in a musicmoose box. My system is perfect for me.

I have focal doors front and rear with the the whole thing sound proofed. The speakers you are looking at are great for the money but you should go ahead and spend the extra money cause not even the infinitis can touch those focals but they will costs you. :santa:

Hey Thump....I put a set of OZ Audio components in my front doors. 5.25" mid bass with a 1" tweeter. Obviously the tweeter fit nicely in the cuttout in the door. The 5.25" were a little different, but real easy. Since your stock speakers are junk, just pull the grills off them. Thats what I did, mounted to 5.25 to the grills and bolted them back in. Nice clean and secure install. Then for the rear (may be different since I have a scab) but I put my Alpine Type R 5x7 seperates in. They are a real nice speaker which comes with a 1" tweeter mounted in the center of the 5x7 on a swivel , so you can aim the tweeter. They also came with the crossovers already wired in, so I just stuffed them in the hole where all the wires go into the cab. I was able to, after I removed the plug, wire tie them to the big wire bundle that runs thru the cab at that point. again, a real nice, secure and clean install. I would deff. look at OZ Audio and Alpine, but make sure its the Alpine Type R series. I think I have a few pics in my gallery if you want to take a look.

Check out www.etronics.com

Ive bought a lot of stuff from them over the last few years and never had a problem.
