after debating on getting a CAI i decided that the HP gains weren't worth the $ and possible problems. That said i just put in a k&n drop in week ago. I was amazed at the difference. After 3 fill-ups im getting inbetween 1.5-3 MPG better and i can now spin my tires for about 6-8 feet. My only suggestion would be to reset the PCM. I didn't do this but im not having the problems you are either.

Odd. Not sure the K&N dropin and that issue you have would be related?

Reset the PCM for sure.

I have never had a problem with my K & N drop in! did have a problem with the air seal on the filter holder, it just went bad and ripped off. Maybe from the repeated opening to clean.

Just a thought, were you low on gas when you did this? Mine acts the same way when I am low on gas and I punch it.
