Raise front or lower back?

I'm torn between the two. I like the look of raising the front with a level kit like a 2" autospring, and putting some 285/70r17 tires on the stock rims. Don't know how it'll look on a 2wd though. I also like the idea of putting ground force 2" lowering schackles on the back and putting some nitto 404's on the stock rims. I know new tires on stock rims, but I'm not a real big rim guy. I may have to wait if I do decide on aftermarket rims, but I'd still like you guys opinions before I do decide so fire away. Thanks in advance.

4x4, I'd raise the front. 4x2, I'd lower the rear.

I second that.

Oh, and I'd stay away from Nitto. After two years on them, switching to Toyo's was a damn dream.

FOr a 2wd I would lower the rear and slap on 20"s on there.. I have a 4x4 so I am going to level the front and still slap some 20"s but with 33" tires.

I say just do what you want, lower or raise it and dont worry about whether its 4x2 or 4x4 because that really doesnt matter. Heres some pics of my 2wd with 2" lift.

Either one is cool. You just need to decide what look you want. Street truck or off road truck. Since you say you don't like big wheels, and that is what is in style currently, I'd say raise the front and install some off road tires.

I say lower, but I like the street look. However, I don't like Screws lowered in rear, I don't think it looks good with the short bed.

I have driven a lowered 2wd S-10 for 13 years, so I think I'll be lifting the front of my 2wd F150. I still have the S-10 so I'll have best of both worlds. Maybe I'll buy a set of 20" takeoffs from a 4wd to balance it out.

Lower the back for sure. Not only because its a 2wd but also there is a lot less chance of problems. With the front kit you have to have the truck realigned plus it throws the front end geometry off and over the long run that can lead to problems...as a few on here can already a test to.

I 2nd that! It all depends on what look you want to go for. If you want the off-road capabilities and ground clearance, or that big tire jacked up look go for that by all means. Or if you want it lowered and level, go for that. I think these trucks look awesome either way whether it be 4wd or 2wd, all depends on how you intend to use it. I dropped the back of mine to level it out because my plan was to get rid of that god awful rake and I did not intend to get bigger tires. I plan to keep my stock wheels and as a personal preference. Leveling kits look GREAT but I think if you put a leveling kit up front, you need 33's to even everything out and I didn't want to do that. Good luck on whatever you decide!
