KSUWildcat- I live in the Wichita area. I'm a K-State guy too, graduated in '91. I sure hope coach Prince is the real deal.......he's an impressive speaker, I just hope the guy can coach. I really like the fact that he got that QB Freeman to commit to KSU. GO STATE!!!

Thats exactly what I want to do.

Yes, the PIE is a constant drain - but it's really, really nominal. I don't believe it would drain the battery in two weeks, but - yes, it is a constant pull.

That's just weird. I wonder what the purpose of that is. So if the radio shuts off, the pie being plugged into it wouldn't stop drawing power? It should be like the lighter. There's always power to it, but if it's not in use no drain no pain.

Guigster... I believe that in a CANN interface (like the one on our stereos) the stereo does a quick load process upon power up and part of this process is to check to see if one of the lines is either hot (+5V) or receiving a certain pattern of digital signals (+5V/0V). This in turn allows the head unit to see if there is something attached and what exactly it is. I have a feeling that the PIE is probably not fast enough on power up to consistently send this signal before the head unit gives up looking. Just my two cents since you were wondering. CANN bus is actually really neat. Our company sells many many CANN testers to automotive companies.

Now here is my question for you experts... when you tap into the green/yellow striped wire to power your XM radio, do you put in an extra 12V outlet right there and then connect to your XM radio through its original cigarette lighter adapter to this 12V adapter? I have a Roady XT and I am wondering if this is what I need to do. Does this green/yellow striped wire provide 12V?? Or do you leave the extra 12V outlet out and just tap the power from your XM radio to the green/yellow wire? I am guessing that this direct 12V source (if it is one) would kill your XM radio? Is this the case?

Just FYI, I installed the AUX adapter with Sirius starmate replay...INCREDIBLE! I'm more than happy with the results. I installed the tuner in the ashtray and I'll post pics of the results tomorrow!

Just cut off the cig adapter end, strip the wires, soldier in a fuse holder on the hot side, then tap the green/yellow wire for the hot, and ground for negative. Oh yeah, put a fuse in the holder that matches what was in the cig adapter.
