Is that the off-road or legal exhaust? Where is the cheapest place to buy one from?

Sounds great! Good to see you got the uploads to work. I just did a cold start that I will download, and for those of you in the warmer states, you can hear the annoying cold engine whine we get when you forget to plug your vehicle in at 5 below.

The off-road version is louder, the muffler has less packing.

I just uploaded 2 start up clips. The first was with my standard mic on the camcorder, the second was with a Sennheiser mic. There was an old beater truck next door that was idling, so you can hear that in the background. I used the autostart to fire the truck up. You're gonna love yours Justin! The dealership added a Ford alarm to my truck when I picked it up, and for $200 more, I had them add the remote start. The nice part is I have one, factory Ford remote for door locks, auto start and alarm. The alarm sounds the horn, but it goes nuts, long tones, short tones, it really gets your attention. Luckily it hasn't had to go off yet for anything bad.

Also on the video the cold weather start up whine is noticable on the first start up. I didn't plug the truck in, so it whined pretty good on me. At least it wasn't 30-40 below out, just 5 below.

cold start

Okay, you guys don't have to beat me into submission, I'll reveil my sources.

My brother headed up the parts department at a Roush authorized Ford Dealership so I got all my parts at cost +10%, then he worked a deal with two of his techs to come in after hours for the install and their paint shop did the painting. I did the entire Roush package for about a third of what it costs on a newly purchased F-150, and that included getting 22" rims and tires, not the Roush 20", and then the LT conversion cost well under a grand. I came out pretty sweet on the whole deal.

My brother quit the dealership shortly after since I got him a job with an oil company up here in Alaska. He's been wanting to move back home, so this was his ticket to do so.

Any cutting or welding required? Or is it a simple bolt on? Do you experience cabin drone with the off-road exhaust?

i believe they cut the single in pipe to the old muffler, then welded on the off road muffler...after that, it is bolt-on with the new hangars. as for cabin drone, yes but its not obnoxious...one of those sound clips should be from within the cab... i noticed it for the first couple days, even with the radio on, but now im used to it, and only hear it if i want to... with a muffler that is only 8x12x4 i guess you've got to expect some noise-good, deep rumbles

I never had a problem with any of my cars/trucks w/custom exhausts passing emissions here in Allegheny county. as long as you keep the cats, you're usually fine.
