]>Man I like that steering wheel. Wish I could have gotten that with my truck.
>Would have matched my body color as well. Damn!

They are available at most of the "Dask Kit" companies for around $370ish. Asinatra posted a link to one place earlier: https://www.f150online.com/forums/li...egory_Code=SF4 .. that company calls the one that came on my FTX is "Titanium" and Black Leather (look on the lower part of that page in the above link) but it is the same finish as the Satin Silver, or Satin Nickel dash trims.

EDIT: I just checked my Woodcorp Dealer Package and they are the manufacturer for the steering wheel upgrades. The Retail for the Steering wheel exchange is only $250 plus a $100 refundable Core Charge. The way it works is they send you a steering wheel and after you install it you send your old one back and get the $100 core charge refunded.

My next mod after the door switch panel trim is to have my door armrests covered in leather. This will simulate the exact way the steerign wheel is done and shoudl match perfectly, PLUS it will feel a heck of a lot better on my "nekked" arm that the plastic. I am ordering a front drivers version to send of to one of my leather suppliers to see what they can do. If it turns out OK I will send them all 4 out of my Screw so they can make a pattern. If anyone else is interested I can have them make more than my set. The company I will be using makes custom leather for Porsches, MB, Ferraris, Lambos, etc., YET they are very inexpensive for what they do. An example is they make a complete recovering kit for our Porsche steeering wheels...and I mean the whole thing that is stitched and glued on to replace the original leather exactly (not a cover) and it only costs me $35 or so!!! I would guess all 4 armrests would be less than $50 even in a low production run :-)

Satin Silver (Woodview calls it satin nickel) it is a silver metal flake finish just like the A/C vents on an Fx4/Lariat... BUT is VERY slick, smooth and shiny.

looks frickin awsome!! i like the carbon fiber look in the fx4 which what is has stock right? with the steering wheel and the trim on the doors it would look great!! do you think the carbon fiber on that website is the same as the the carbon fiber in the fx4?? im thinking maybe i could order just the door trim but if it looks different from the dash i dont think it will look good.

K A FX4,

They have those in the original "FX4 Carbon Fiber Look", it is called "Pewter Weave". Look for "Factory Match Pewter Weave" Kits it you want the exact match to your exisitng FX4 CF

I installed mine today and was VERY impressed with the quality, fit and ease of installation. I liiked it so much I installed the shifter console part also AND will be ordering the FX4 CF cover-up version that I mentioned earlier ASAP. This set covers all of the factory FX4 CF (pewter weave) with the Satin Nickle and will give me a uniform look IMHO.

Soon as I get home tomorrow I will try to get some pics of the pieces installed so far.

I just got back from 5 hour trip in the FTX from visiting wife's family in Ohio (from where I posted yesterday). It is 11pm and I am beat. Will get some pics up tomorow by mid day. If I can get a good enough quality photo that will show you even half as good as it looks in person... it will be worth the wait :-)

Ok, got a few pics for you guys. After calling me a "slacker" :-), I grabbed my old camera (new one is still in for repair) and snapped a few. BTW, it is hard to get photos of this stuff to make it look as it appears in person (the first pic of the drivers door is closest) and this is the best I could do for now. You can see all of these in my gallery, look in "FTX pics"

I will try to get some better ones tomorrow in the daylight.

:-) I have to thank my wife for getting everyone in my family my "Wish List". It is pretty cool that my wife and family still put up with a 46 year old "kid" like me!

OK, here is about the best I am going to be able to do with the camera I have.

THANKS, I like it and as I said the photos do not do it any justice at all!

Can't wait to get the matching items for the center dash surround/ashtray and the other door pieces. Probably order those today and hopefully will have pics up by the weekend!

Looks great! I'm thinking about doing the same thing except with wood trim to match what is in my Lariat. How was the install? What did it entail, are those flexible pieces like laying wallpaper or rather molded things that "pop" on?

BTW, I took the pictures of the Homelink but I lost the cord that connects the camera to the computer and I have a Sony camera so their memory card won't work in my SD slot on the computer. I'm going to pick up a new cord today and get those pictures to you.

Thanks,

Duke

Hi Duke,

>Looks great!

Thanks!

>I'm thinking about doing the same thing except with wood trim to match what is in my Lariat.

You will like it!

>How was the install?

It was so easy I did it when we stopped for gas at a service station going from my family in NC to my wife's in Ohio. I was very cautious( read chicken) on the first one and it took longer than the other 4 parts. Total time at gas station was around 10-15 mins.

>What did it entail,

Test fit (they were all perfect), clean areas where parts go with alcohol, spray with included solution that allows you to move the part if you don't put it in the exact location (I only used this on the first one). Once you are happy with the alignment (it really only fits one way) you press all around it and you are done.

>are those flexible pieces like laying wallpaper or rather molded things that "pop" on?

3 Dimensional Molded rigid (very thin) parts with thin 3M peel and stick adhesive on the back side (almost 100% coverage). They are very thin and literally act like a "second skin". No clearance issues anywhere and once installed it becomes one with the stock part. The good thing about it being a 3D molded part is even around the window switch "holes" it has a flange that goes down in the holes for a total factory original look. Cool stuff.
