I have also wondered this. In my old owners manuals it states approximately how much fuel is left. It states this nowhere in my 05 manual.

I have a 2005 FX4 and last week I filled up as soon as the low fuel warning came on. I had to put 24.5 gallons in, meaning there was about 5.5 gallons left, give or take. I think Troyer has said in a previous post that the warning comes on when there is anwhere from 3.5 - 5.5 gal. or something close to that range.

No, it gets annoying when people post the same questions every other day and don't EVER search before they post something.

In Fx4's post it says he DID search but did not quite get the answer he was looking for, so he asked it again and maybe in a different context. I'm now a lot of people at one time or another have asked questions that have already been asked before, and there are mulitple threads under one group that are talking about the same thing. It doesn't take much too be nice to people. Try it sometime you might like what you get in return. I doubt anything will change with this post so why don't you do us all a favor and pull the large stick out of your A** that someone had lodged so firmly and deeply in there.

Lemme add some FUEL to the fire hehe...always wondered exactly what's inside the tank to set off the low fuel sensor. I'm guessing there's a float in there, but not sure. In othe cars I've owned you get different readings pointed up or down hill, but this truck doesn't seem to do that. So what set's off the alarm???

If your the old school days you never let your tank get below a quater Just remember our fuel pumps are in the gas tank The gas keeps it cool Let it run down to empty all the time you are looking for a problem
