Maybe its 'old school' but I was taught to never let the gas go under 1/4 tank with extreem cold outside temperatures. 50 is the correct answer.

How can it be 50 miles, every truck has different mods and such so each vehicle gets different gas milage..So I would go by the 3.5 to 5.5 gallons, you know your approx gas milage, figure it from that..

FX4s don't have message centers to display DTE like a Lariat, King Ranch or Harley truck does. In those latter trucks, the low fuel warning comes on at 50 miles. In anything without a DTE message, well, it depends. Typically though, there's a 3-5 gallon buffer after the low fuel light comes on.

Thanks to all of those who posted replies to the question that was asked. That is all that we were looking for, not some smart a** remarks that some people feel that they need to give all the time. As for the 1/4 tank thing, I have always run till E on my last three trucks with no problem, just ny .02

Just pulled in at the pump and at that point the light went on. Filled her up and it took 25 gallons, so 5 gal was still left.
Just had to reply my 2 cents.

I was told by the dealer there's about 20 miles left, so that means a little over a gallon.

If the dealer said it, it must be true. I mean, doesn't every person that works at a Ford dealer drive an F150 every single day?
