Question about 2005-2006 STX

Are they available with power windows?I have looked at 5 or 6 05-06 STX's in the last couple weeks and none of them had power windows. I like the STX look with the colored bumpers and fog lights but I need power windows.
Oh,in case your wondering why I haven't asked the salesman this question.Because I avoid the salesmen until I find something I want to testdrive.

I am pretty sure that STX's are not offered with any power.

I got my STX for a fraction of what an XLT with the power options would sell for. So I added my power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise for a few hundred dollars, and had fun working on the truck. These trucks are very easy to work on. Modular interior that comes apart in minutes. Lots of room to work.

Or, if you have wads of cash, the XLT is where you should be looking.

your best bet is to try to find a complete interior from a wrecked 04+ XLT/lariat/fx4, at least all the power gadgets and door panels

if you do it yourself, and dont get new door panels, I think it looks pretty cheap. I have seen it done. Especially the little round filler cap for where the window crank was...

Its a shame Ford pidgeon-holes you into buying option groups like the XLT, it used to be, you could order your vehicle, and it would come as a "custom", and you could specify only the options you wanted

IE: power locks/windows with a rubber floor mat, no chrome trim, etc. each option had its specific price added to the base truck. Of course, back then the base truck was not an XL, the XL was a step up from the base truck

end rant

Ya I know,I was looking at STXs because I like the looks of the exterior better without the plastic fender flare thingys like the FX4 has.I guess if I get an FX4 I'll have to learn to like them or remove them. Thanks for the replies.

snip
Um, this from someone that wanted to 'Disney Construction' a set of Expy buckets into an F-150...

To each his own. I saved about 10,000 bucks the day I bought over the price of the cheapest XLT. I do admit my tweeters on the door do not look as good as a Lariat or FX4 door panel, but then, they don't put those in the XLT.

Apples and Pears always. If you don't get a customized King Ranch, your truck looks cheap. And if you do, an LT driver tells you the King Ranch looks cheap...
Whatever floats your boat.

I guess if someone wants to spend $40 grand on a pickup truck, that is their business...

They sort of came through for us New Englanders.Well I'm not positive but I believe it is only available in N.E. Anyway it is a Roush Champions Edition 4x4 STX w/extended cab.The only thing Roush specific are the 20" chrome wheels, billet grill and chrome exhaust tips.It also has a small N.E. Patriots logo under the emblem on the front fenders. They are sharp looking trucks.I did an internet search and couldn't find any info on them, that's why I'm not sure if they are only available in N.E. but I've looked at 6 of them at dealerships.I suppose I could add power windows.

Holy cow. Ford offers the most options with the most model packages of any other truck maker selling in the states. How can you be disappointed at that. I think that others here have stated alot of ways to come up with the options you want with little work. Either buy the options you want or install them easily afterwards.

My X girlfriend has a red 2005 STX and it doesn't have power windows. Don't think the STX comes with windows. If we ever cross paths again, she will see that I have and XLT with power windows, that will be something else to add to the things that she doesn't like about me.

I am pretty sure the STX comes with windows. They may not be powered windows, but they are windows.

With the STX I am looking at, I am VERY happy with. Power windows don't really do anything for me as I didn't have 'em on my 97' XL worktruck. Come to think of it, the STX is kind of like the the step child of the extened cabs. If you want all the bells and whistles go get a XLT or if you want a (at least for me) cheaper V8 extended cab worktruck that looks nice, get a STX. Personally I prefer the vinyl floors (non carpet), a/c, 6 disk cd changer, and especially the floor mounted 4x4 shifter. And the STX sittin on 17" chrome...nice. No dorky sliding back window...its just a beautiful truck IMO. Oh yeah, take off the STX stickers as I hate pinstiping, graphics, and 4x4 stickers. Especially those fx4 trucks with those dumb *** stickers...why advertise if you have 4x4? They should already know just by looking at it.
