Roush vs Magnaflow

Just like the title says. Roush vs Magnaflow.

- Which one makes more power/torque?
- Which one is louder?
- Which one is made better?

My Magnaflow is not loud at all, has some grunt but not much. The AF1 takes over. But I've already mentioned this to you haven't I. Not sure of anyone with the Roush.

What kind of sound are you looking for?

I have a flowmaster 4o series on mine, with stock piping and a 3.5" tip. It sounds awesome, inside the cab and out. One day, I let my GF borrow my truck to go to the store... when she drove off, the sound coming from the pipes was amazing.

The maggie makes the most power because it a free flowing muffler.. its a straight thru design.. But, I'd venture to say that it only makes more HP at the upper RPMs.. Id say that the any aftermarket exhaust makes the same HP at the lower RPMs. Maybe someone can dispute that with dyno graphs, but I doubt it.

Personally, I'd stay away from a duals. You're already running large tires, so you need every ounce of low end torque you can get. High end HP is not what you should worry about. Alot of people say dual out Flowmasters lose low end power.... I dont doubt it.

Like I said, I have flowmaster 40 series and I love it. Its PLENTY loud when I want it and just right when I dont want it. But.. slight drone at abouit 1800-2000 RPMs..

Got my Roush exhaust last year when i picked up my truck. Had two versions, i went with the "quieter" one and have been happy. Can only compare it to the Flowmaster i had on my '00, and they're similar in sound. As far as power goes, installed after 10 miles, and no dyno, so no comparisons. You know it's there, but it's never overbearing.

The straight through designs like Magnaflow, Banks, Bassani, Borla are going to make the best power. Baffled mufflers in general cause a loss of torque at lower RPMs. I've had Flowmaster and IMCO mufflers prior to my Magnaflow so I speak from experience.

I could of swore someone say that the Banks Monster exhaust was real quiet compared to Magnaflow. Can anyone justify that? If not they make the EXACT cat-back kit I want. I went onto Banks website to get the part number for the exhaust I want but I couldn't find any part numbers. Does anyone know the part number for the Banks Monster exhaust/corner exit duals. I know I saw a blue FX4 lifted with this set-up.

I haven't had any personal expierence with a Banks System but my friend that works at A Dodge/Nissian Dealership has. They put a banks monster exhaust system on their parts truck a Titan. He said that it was very quiet at idle, but really loud when you get on it. A story he told me was that one day, one of the porters was picking up a part at the local GM dealership and he took the Titan. When he left the dealership he got on it hard and went back to his work. Later that day they got a phone call from the Gm dealership saying to never come back with that truck, because the exhaust shook the display window glass. This is just a story so I think thats kind of hard to believe, but you never know. Anyways that's what I've heard about Banks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Roush kit was MagnaFlow (at least the actual muffler). Reason I say that, is because all the mufflers (at least pre 05) they had available for the Roush Mustang were all different versions of MagnaFlows. Just a tid bit for you to ponder hehe...

Been searching for you and can only find the factory single exit style, if know one else knows the number I would try contacting Banks directly.
