Roush hood scoop

Hey guys..i've the seen the roush hood scoop for the 150's and they look halfway decent. Does anyone have any pictures of them on their truck. Is there any type of vent grille to put in it though? What do you think of it? I would love to have a ram air hood but dont see it coming any time soon.thanks

I like the way it looks to but with the way my hood shakes I am worried that it will come loose and fly off. Any body have a fix for the shake, rattle and roll hood problem?

Take off the bug deflector and watch your hood shakes go away. When i cut the hole in my hood for the shaker i was VERY surprised at how flimsy the whole hood was. To help support the hood skin, i cut some pieces of hard foam (that are used to pack Dell PCs and that seemed to help sturdy up the hood.
Regarding the hood scoop flying off, i was surprised at how the shaker was attached. It seemed that it should fly off. I have been up to 120 and it is still on! Most of the air flow over the scoop.....

I had my cowling replaced. That seemed to help a lot. Now it just shakes a little. Probably because of my bug shield.

Dont go with a Roush hood scoop. It is non-functional and basically just a plastic bolt on. If it isnt installed correctly, it could look off center and there could be gaps. Also, the part may cost around $150 but that isnt including the paint. Go with an entirely new hood

I agree, see my Gallery for pics of the one I have. There are many different styles of REAL Ram Air Hoods and you should be able to find the style you like. Most I have seen can even arrive pre-painted to match.

OH, I never knew the stock hoods shake (mine came with the aftermarket hood), my Ram Air Hood is solid as a rock, never seen it move at all.

Dowhatchalike. I like mine. I know it isn't functional. If you've got half a brain, you can install it correctly. A whole new hood is gonna run you $1200 plus.

Krohbar, Does your hood shake rattle and roll Like mine. I wanted my body shope to fiberglass the hood scoop in so that it looked like it was part of the hood and not a stick on. If any one nows of a hood manufacturer who make a hood that looks like this please let me know, I have looked and have not found one.

Have you checked Ramairhood.com ? They have 3 different styles for our F-150s. Also take a look at the 2004 F-250 Single Scoop as this looks kinda like what you are talking about. The guys there are pretty nice and may even make one like that for your F-150 soon, heck you might could be the test bed for one.

I LOVE the Roush hood scoop, and with some fabricating theres no reason why you couldn't make it functional.

Don't get me wrong. IF I somehow manage to come across an extra 1k that my wife won't care about, a ram air hood is on the way
