No sir, that was a burnout, notice the black marks beind the tires and my truck being sideways. Foot brake to tires barely start spinning, let go of foot brake, ride the burnout out.

acctually from what i was told by a "Ford Tech" take it how you want . the crown vics with "Police Interceptor " packs on them have a different tunning all together since they are the 4.6 32v motors. they have performance fuel and spark curves , and no limiter , but in california an officer can not pursue a chase over 130 mph due to the fact of putting other people in danger .

 

MOST states have adopted that law.

 

I figured as much i was just adding that to the limiter part .you might out run the unit, but you can never out run "Motorola "

 

Crown Victoria PI is a 16v SOHC 4.6 with 250 hp....up ten from the dual exhuast civilian model thanks to an intake similar to the marauder's.....only other mechanical/physical performance modifications is a 3.73 differential up from the 3.27 in the CV sport......they do have a SLIGHTLY better tune though so they can shift at a higher rpm and the governor is raised from 110 to 128....the suspension is also lifted an inch and the car is givin a beefier frame to handle potholes and offroad conditions with less stress on the driver and the car.....they also have a higher amperage alternator for the electronics.......contrary to the added horse power and rear differential in the PI a CV LX with the 2.73 with only mod being a superchips would walk circles around a PI due to the MUCH less weight in the civilian model....my dad has one with FIPK,custom dual exhuast, and superchips and it will beat the mustang gt 2v.....the only panther platform car with a 32v DOHC 4.6 is the Marauder

 

Police Interceptor Crown Vics don't have 4.6 4Vs. They're still running the plain jane 4.6 2V, with an external oil cooler and dual exhaust. They're got a 3.55 limited slip rear axle, stiffer springs and shocks, no PATS, and stiffer springs and shocks. That's the big differences, there's a few little ones, like a higher output alternator and an 850 CCA battery for the cop electronics and stuff, but that's it.

Well, just watching the police chase videos, it seems to me like what wins most chases is durability. They have a better cooling system, and that external oil coiler just for this. That's what a State Rod here told me anyway. I was just kidding with him and asked him if he wanted to run 'em, and he said "no way, you'll beat me, but I dare you to run from me!" I didn't try it.

 

When I was a kid I was driving a stock Mustang GT. My uncle was a cop that worked the graveyard shift. I went for a Ride-Along with him. It was soo boring that around 2am we decided to race the squad against the GT. We both couldn’t believe how much the GT outran the squad.

 

Speed ratings for tires sold in the US are derived from a test described in the European tire testing standards.

Essentially you put a tire on a rim and run it against a metal wheel. It has to run at its rated speed for at least 30 minutes without damage, and most manufacturers specify a temperature it can't exceed. (which is a temp where they think the tire will start to be damaged)

My first bike had S rated tires on it and it spent a whole lot of time above 112MPH, and I'm still around to type about it.

 

I have rolled up to about 130-135 a few times.
