1. Depress Trip Odometer Button
2. Turn Keyswitch on WHILE holding in the button
3. Turn loose of the button after turning the key on.
4. Voillah!!

Most of you probably know this, but you can hold the trip odometor button in and turn the key on and it goes into another mode. On this mode there is a digital speedometer. I'm sure most everybody knew that so...

With the needle at 100, the digital speedo on the truck was showing 98 mph and his GPS about 96.5 mph. So I tried it with the O/D off and it pulled well to 130, and at 133 mph according to the digital on the truck, the rev limiter kicked in at 5600 RPM. I never would have thought it would run that fast, I thought maybe 125 would catch it.

Anybody know if it would do any better with the O/D on? I didn't try it, because I figured it would just fall on its face, and once was enough for me. I don't make a habit of this, just wanted to try it.
How old are you?
You should be locked up. That's a good way to get someone killed!

There are only 2 trucks that should be doing running at any speed over 100. A Lightning or an SRT-10. Hey man I won't knock ya for tryin it ( god only knows I did 140+ just about every weekend in my 03 Lightning), but please do yourself a favor and others before you do it again: lower your truck, bump up the shocks, swaybars and speed rating of your tires and.........get a good lawyer.

Yeah and I bet you did all that as well when you drove like that. There is no way to be perfectly safe at those speeds, so just be careful. By that I mean don't go in between cars at that speed, many people can't tell exactly how fast someone is going by their glaring headlights when they're changing lanes.

[jerk] Oh, and keep a video camera rolling at all times when you're at those speeds [/jerk]

133mph, BIG DEAL!!!! I drove my last truck above 135mph sometimes twice a week on the way to work down the Turnpike! I must add... It too was a 2003 Lightning with ZR(140mph+) rated tires. I've only had my Screw up to 100mph on my 22's and couldnt stand the ride, So I let off!

Boy do I miss those days! Stay safe man!

Citation for 100 mph in a 60 mph zone: $250/ 2 years probation
"Good Lawyer": $750
1 year of worrying about going to jail cause the trial takes so long: Not so priceless.

On a side note though, whenever I hold in the odometer button and get the codes to come up, what do all of those other codes mean? I saw speed, RPM, A/F ratio, fuel pressure, etc. Is there one for how gallons are left in the gas tank?????
