How many of us have had this minor problem?

I decided to take an informal survey so to speak. I am curious to know how many of us have had the light/led burn out on the "up" side of the drivers power window switch. I had my XLT in for service the other day and all the other '04 owners (they were the only ones there that day) I talked to said they had the same issue. Since it seems to be just the "up" half of the switch, I thought it might be interesting to see how many others had this happen.

I haven't had any problems with the power window switch on my 05 FX4, but my power rear slider switch light likes to go on and off occasionally. The only problem is that is won't stay off long enough to get it into the dealer. very intermittent. Just my .02

I had the same problem. Dealer replaced the part and its been good ever since. Strange how its the same butto everyone complains about. Must be a decent amount of defective switches out there.

Oh, also had the real-slider motor replaced once as well. It bugged out on me again the other day though. Someone just posted you should use it every now and again to keep it running. Going to have to try that and see what happens.

Later,

Luis S

Mine is burned out right now.

Thank you. I didn't realize that it was a common problem.

Just wondering this also, but does anyone else here have an intermittent problem opening their power sliding rear window?

It's also cold weather time, and the annoying high pitch wine is back at about 1500 rpm when the temp is 32F or lower.

Still, I love this truck!

Edit: Oops...Just read the whole post above. I guess the rear window prob is rampent too.

Mine went out too, but I just thought I would put up with it seing that they may have to take the whole door apart to get to it. Nothing goes back the way it's suppose too. Thanks for letting us know that there is a problem.

When I had mine changed, I watched the tech do it. Literally, the truck was in and out of the shop in 10 minutes. (it took them way longer to wash it afterwards) The tech just popped the switch panel off of the door, unplugged the wiring harness, snapped the switch assembly out of the panel, popped the new on in, plugged the wiring back in, popped the plate back into place ans out the door she went.

My '04 XLT also has a faulty driver's window "up" switch light. Sometimes it lights up and sometimes it does'nt.

I'm outside of my warranty period so I guess I will just live with this slight annoyance.

Cheers,
Ox

I haven't tried to open it up to see what lights it, I assume an LED or is it a micro bulb? Anyone know for sure?
