center console subs

Has anyone successfully taken the 20% out and put a sub box in? I have the floor 4x4 shifter so I am tryin to figure out what the best thing to do is. I would ideally like to a fit a 12 or 2. If you do have the setup can you post pictures?

I've been contemplating doing that or using the space behind my reg cab. I've started drafting a couple plans already and will let you know what I come up with.

Not a bad idea, let us know what you do in fact come up with.

i thought about taking the flow through console from a lariat and putting it in my xlt screw. then, i could make a box that uses the space from the dash to the console as well as the open space under the cupholer area. the cutout for the center console shifter could be used for ports for a custom bandpass box. i don't know for sure if it would work, but I thought I would think out loud.....

I could never find your pictures BOB! Now I can!! I think I might do the tweeters mod. I have never had tweeters. How do I wire them up. The sub bo wouldn't work for me since I have the on the floor 4x4 shifter.

that sounds pretty good but the deal is when and if (and I will) I put power windows where I have the manual cranks I want to put tweeters there....so you think two sets of tweeters will do any good? The ones on the dash seem more practical set right in front of your face but I dunno what to put on the holes?

nooooo! I think I might have to make a post, check that it has already been done. I might have to ask Myst. The caps are so damn ugly and I barely have enough money for the motors much less new skins.

Does anyone know if the 20% is hollow underneath. I thought about putting the sub in the middle but the gf likes to sit next to me..Soooo I was wonderin if I could stick a 10 or 12 in there and then put it back down...? Does that seem possible? If anyone has done it how does it hit and please post some pics.

It's hollow, but you won't be putting a sub in there. It's quite small, and the airbag control module is in there. Don't put strong magnets next to that. You wouldn't like that.

Pull up sharply on the bottom of the center seat at the front. Yank it up and take a look. Nothing to it.
