Has anyone NOT had warrante issues?
04 FX4 - 11 months, 11k miles, 0 problems.
While I can sympathize with your FX4 problems, I would like to mention that I have owned 4 European cars (328i, 525i, 740il, Jetta) and they were all undependable and expensive to maintain. Where the car is manufactured or the badge it wears does not guarantee trouble-free ownership.

I'm sure the problem is not the mouth, the problem is his american made truck!

In case you were unaware, many of the components for our Fords are built in Mexico and other foreign nations. Our trucks are ASSEMBLED in the US.
In my opinion, being a patriot does not entail being ripped off at the cash register merely because a company claims to be American. US corporations don’t give a rats a$$ when it comes to the American worker when they decide to outsource. Thusly, I feel no loyalty towards US corporations and will spend MY hard earned money where I will receive the best value.
In my opinion, the best value is with foreign auto makers at this point in time. Given the financial woes the US auto industry is under, it would seem that many American consumers agree with my point of view. My father has purchased strictly Toyotas for the last 20 years and couldn’t be happier with them. Perhaps there is some wisdom to his line of thinking…
I drove/worked on a Tundra over the holiday. Lousy mileage, less power, lousy ride, it is a 2003 and has been back to the shop 11 times, half dozen problems.
The owner brags about how reliable it is… It’s a Toyota; they are the most reliable truck made… right… He says it’s normal to have to take a truck in for suspension problems, steering problems, brake problems (3-4 times) non-starting problems…
Why people buy into the BS that Jap or Euro cars/trucks are trouble free always amazes me. I sold autoparts for decades, and trust me; we sold a lot of import parts.
I have owned cars/trucks myself from most makers, new and used, and NOBODY makes a perfect car.
Customer satisfaction reviews are usually 'halo' reviews.
"Gee, I love my Toyota, and everyone says they are a reliable, so I won't complain about the bad starter, alternator, and fuel pump when I talk about it, as I will look stupid..."
Some of the worst cars/trucks get high reliability reports due to things like that.
Mercedes is a good example.
The legendary VW beetle is almost the worst car ever made.
The ‘recommended maintenance’ is incredible, the life span of the components was remarkably short, but everyone remembers them as ‘great little cars’. They didn’t even get good gas mileage.
I owned 5 or 6 of them back in the day…
BMW is one of the least reliable cars made. I have an old friend who is a 'doctor of cars’ a German thing... works on MB and BMW 5 days a week.
When I drove them he did my work.
He talks about how perfect they are, while talking about all the chronic problems, the incredible maintenance expenses, and constant break downs. But that doesn't matter... They are reliable, darn it...
I sold too many engines to low mile Hondas, Toyotas, Nissan, etc. to ever believe that they are paragons of perfection.
Sure I have seen some remarkably reliable ones. I have also seen many remarkably reliable American rides.
Difference is that to be reliable, an American car historically costs a fraction as much to maintain.
You get a lemon, it’s a lemon.
You get a good one, it’s a good one.
That applies to all brands.
Most Ford F-150 owners are very happy.
Some aren’t.
Don’t extend your unhappiness to all owners, all models.
That’s the problem with forums. A guy gets a flat tire, and within three posts, all tires made by XYZ company are bad, the car maker is trying to kill us, etc. etc. etc.

I have a 98 f150 (work truck) with over 150,000 miles, the only major (if you want to call it that) thing I have had done to it was replace the slave cylinder in the tranny just this month. I love this truck.
I had a 2001 VW GTI which at 15,000 miles had major repairs adding over the $2000 mark
Beautiful car but POS on reliability. I traded it for my FX4
