tray gauge pod now complete!

today i wired up the second gauge in the dash gauge pod tray. had the trans temp gauge already, decided on the voltmeter to keep an eye on the charging system. easy install, just connected all the wires to the first gauge....now they both come on with key only and dim like all the factory lighting does, and stay on with key out till the door is opened or ten minutes runs out. will take pics tomorrow during daylight. most of you probably remember when i started this project.....now looks just like factory. gauges are black face, red needle, green lighting, and brushed aluminum or aluminum rings like the larger gauges on the fx4 are......see ya,,,

Jim, just sent you an e-mail

I also have the tray gauge pod. I had also added the voltmeter. I do a bit of towing and even though I have a tow package I added a Troyer fan cooled cooler between the regular trans cooler and tranny. I now can switch between the internal tranny temp and the cooled trans fluid as it comes from the coolers.

On my last trip from Southern Cal to the Columbia river in Oregon for most of the time the temps of the cooled fluid was 50 degrees lower than the internal trans temp. That does make sense. I ordered a second temp probe from Autometer and used hardware store brass fittings for it to insert into the return line.

I am pretty happy with what it shows me.

Can you post the link to your gallery on FTW, I really want to see how far the hitch hangs down from the body lift. Did you get the gap guards or no? Sorry for all the questions.

Hate to hijack this one but thumper the hitch in the stock location because I modified the hitch/bumper brackets.
Here's the only pic I have of the rear.

That looks good, Jim. Really matches the factory cluster.

Looks very nice. Did you get the pod in the satin black or is that the unpainted?

I think this may be a good next project. I like the Trans Temp. Did you consider the Oil Temp gauge vs. Volts? If so, what was it that kept you from doing the Oil Temp? Thanks!
