Question Just installed OEM leather... A question

Well, I finally recieved my leather seat covers that I bought on ebay. I had an upholstery shop install them today. I'm very impressed, they look & feel great. But I have a question...

Is it just me, or does the radio sound much better with the leather? I'm serious here; my radio sounds much clearer & crisper. I noticed it right away. Could this be possible? Or am I imagining things??? The only conclusion that I could come to is that the fabric seats 'absorb' some of the sound waves, but the leather reflects them. I don't know; anyone else notice this?

Do you mind me asking - how much was the install? Yes - I believe the ambient surroundings will affect the sound of the stereo. I have the "stains-a-lot" cloth seats, so I can't comment on the leather.

No, it's not just you. I noticed the sound was different after I put in the leather.
That's normal.
The cloth is porous and works like sound proofing. The leather reflects more sound. You will notice the high frequency more now, the sounds will be more directional.

Just finished my OEM leather install yesterday, I did notice my sound system sounded different. I also noticed my truck smelled much better

Kinda off topic, don't you think?! Those are schefenacker tow mirrors (TTY).

The install was $200, which including fixing the rear backrest panel. Well worth it IMO. I tried doing a headrest myself, and 1 1/2 hours later & with very sore hands, I gave up... Doing the whole install myself would have taken forever... The upholstery shop took all of 3 hours to do it.

Head rests are easy; you should have read the posts on that.

All you need is a vacuum cleaner.
Can't believe how well that trick works. Did both headrests start to finish in ten minutes...
Anyone else undertaking this job, look up vacuum and headrest in the search function.

Still well worth the price for the labor, unless like me you have too much time on your hands...

For $200 I'd of had them do it too. I checked a local upholstery shop and they quoted me over $400 and wanted me to leave the truck there for 2 days again. I have my leathers in the garage. I'm gonna try to do it tomorrow. I did the rear head rest about a week ago and had them on in about 20 minutes.
