Question Carbon Build Up and Removal

Ok, first I have searched and did not find much. Now, with all this talk about our plugs Iv'e seen things about carbon build up and using a treatment to remove it. What exactly is this process and what is the best way to go about it? Is it something I can do myself? If so does it really work & make a difference or is it just another additive that just takes money out of my pocket?

Thanks JP I'm going to give it a shot before I change out my plugs. Actually I think I'm going to have the dealer change them out cuz I dont have the guts to do it myself

Hi.

Here's aother :

BTW - it was also mentioned somewhere on here ( MT I think), about a Stealership performing carbon removal via walnut shells as the agent. Might want to check on that ...

Cheers

They’re not hard to do yourself, depending on your mileage and driving habits. I had a lot of rust on mine but it’s because I do a lot of short trip driving and moisture never gets to be burnt off properly. I did mine with a cold engine, but since found out that approximately a 150° to 160° engine temp would be optimal for hard to remove plugs

Will just adding the Sea Foam to your gas tank be enough or do I need to take all the steps recomended on their Web Site?
