Combating Rattles and Popping Sounds in Dash
yea me too....one thing that was wrong with mine the defroster covers pry off...they didn't have the clear plastic washers on the so i put felt on. also tie wrapped everthing i could find that would move ....put sound deadening insulation on any surface that i could find under the dash...its just all plastic!!!make sure that your rattles are coming from a poor aftermarket stereo install...some rattles are caused by extra wire bang against ac duct ...tie wrap and insulation took care of that.
When I had my 04 F150, I had many many rattles from anywhere u looked inside the truck, I took felt and put it all over the place to try to stop the rattles, but then by me ripping apart the dash to put felt down, made more rattles. I came to the conclution that every car or truck, from any make in the world, has rattles. I don't think you can avoid them completly, yes they drive you crazy, but all these new cars and trucks are made of plasitc, and plastic moves which causes rattles to make themselfs known after a few miles.

When I was trying to get my Dodge car fixed for a popping noise, the tech was telling me about another car they had in a few months earlier.
The owner would hear this noise in the front of the cabin occasionally. Techs couldn't find it/hear it. Back and forth between owner and shop. The dealer bought the car back and then sold it as used. The second owner brought it back with the same complaints. Eventually the dealer bought the car back and the techs then got to tear it apart to find it.
There was a golf ball in the headliner and when the temps were just right the roof would expand just that little bit enough to let the ball roll around. Apparently it was in from the factory.
