Headliner rattle when cold !?

With the weather getting cold i just noticed something! When i start up in the early morning when it's really cold, the head liner rattles where the rear overhead lamp is. If i hold up on it then it stops rattleing. Also as the day warms up it won't rattle anymore!?

Anyone else have this? Whats the quick fix? Take out the lamp and get some insulation up there?

When it gets cold the foam stuff they put in there draws up and doesn't prevent the rattle until your truck warms and the foam expands.

I am having the same problem with my asy tray.

If you have a moonroof, there is a TSB out on that. Just take it to the dealer and if they have the part in stock it takes about 15 minutes to fix. Good luck.

Hi guys, I had the same problem on my 05 screw but I thought the rattle was coming from the backseat some where, it was very deceiving. This is what I found: The temp did not matter I always had the rattle. At about 400 miles on the odometer I reached up to the right of the dome lamp (about 4-6 inches to the right) and the headliner seemed to have alot of up and down movement compared to the "left" side of the light. Sooooo I gently "popped" the headliner straight up with my palm and I heard one of the fasteners pop in. Low and behold not a single rattle since and I have 3000 miles on the odo. And i do not have the moon roof. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I have the TSB performed in July. It stopped the ratteling, however it has since come back a few weeks ago. I'll take it in a few weeks when I have time to get it fixed again.
