Installing Underdrive Pullies

I have a set of pullies, but no instructions to install them... So Im gonna rely on you guys for help.

Any tips about the install?

If anyone has a scanner and has installed the troyer UD kit and still has the instructions... could you email me the instructions?

I read the install guide written by HamRadio, which was good, just wanted to know if there were any other pointers.

What exactly do I ask for when I go to AutoZone to rent tools?

A harmonic balancer puller?

I dont really think I'll have much problem putting them on... Im a pretty decent weekend wrench.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

They are the Pullies that Troyer sells minus the instructions.

Impact.... get an impact.

And what Asinine said.

I bought mine second hand and they came with no instructions. Pretty straight up.

Take off plastic cover above radiator

Unbolt fan shroud (will not come off until you get the fan off)

Take off of fan (I held it with a strap wrench... the tool that Asinatra suggested would have been nice). Remove fan and shroud.

Loosen Balancer pulley

Remove belt

Take off balancer pulley (use a puller) and waterpump pulley

Install new ones in reverse

NOTE: you must put some RTV around the pin when you install the new pulley

Also.... don't waste your time with the old belt. Go get a gatorback , your old one will probably squeal (mine did BAD).

Oh yeah..... GET AN IMPACT

Sorry... I mean the shaft "key". You'll see it when you pull the crankshaft pulley off.

RTV, sealent, permatex, pookey (can't think of any other names for it right now)

Just dab a little bit around the key.

RTV= Room-Temperature Vulcanizing Silicone Sealants and Adhesives

No e-fans yet.

Ive been lookin at fans on ebay though... I figure 1-14" and 1-16" will be plenty.... or maybe just 2-14" fans.

I figure I can get the fans and a controller for about $150- $180

I dont imagine I'll have much of a problem puttem them on.

That's what i said, and it took way longer than expected, i suggest you talk to soundperformance about fans.

Install e-fans first there is no reason you should put the stock fan clutch back on and all the room you get by taking off the shroud is great
