Pick up the Truck!
I fllew from Little Rock Arkansas to Houston Texas, 500 miles to pick up my truck last year. It was a 500 mile test drive. I had all the dealer transfer papers with me and the deal could not be finalized until I took them to the dealer. I got home on Sunday afternoon, and took the papers to the dealeer the next Friday after work. It was a great 500 mile test drive.
Glad it all worked out. There is a little dealership near my parents house that will go the extra mile to get the vehicle you want. They went to Ok to get a Super Duty for my younger brother, Florida to get my Mom's Expy And to NC to get my older brother's 250 4x4. When the dealer wants to make a sale and make a buyer happy they will do the little things for you. It shows when you need them to fix the truck after you buy it. In this case they made an extra step to get you in the truck, hopefully they will continue after the sale. Good luck with your new baby!
My truck had to be driven from another dealership ~90 miles away. I bought the truck with ~94 miles on it. They use old retired guys also to transport. I did a very careful look-over and still have found no problems with the truck.
why dont u just order a new one and in about 6 weeks you will have exactly what u want no more no less and u can see it come off the truck and get a better price that way. ive been doing that for years.
he was doing about 5MPH down my street with a whole line of traffic behind him.

They are playing hardball with me on accessories. I asked about a drop in bed liner, they said $175. I asked about the HD grill, they told me to $350. WTF...I call back after seeing prices of $125 to $135 for the HD grill. Then they told me $154. Whatever, I will get them to install it..

Hell, that 150 will probably be crusing down the interstate to get to your dealer at 65mph with the cruise on the whole way. I'd be more concerned about how it was test driven by some yahoo while it was on the original dealer's lot for the past two weeks.
Yes, I talk from experience. Out of about 18-20 trucks, I've ordered one. 90% of the others were dealer traded, and the last 10% were on the lot. All bought sight-unseen from 350 miles away, and the least on the ticker was 35 miles, and the most was 1400. The 1400 was on a truck that was just offloaded at a dealer three states over, and that was all they could find that fit my bill. Yes, I wanted it. Yes, I could have ordered one. Yes, I could have changed my options. No, there were not any problems. Not in the first 60,000 I put on her in 10 months, anyway.

It's not a Daimler product. Most of the porters I have seen and know are old farts that are just looking to get out and don't like working as a Walmart greeter. The dealer can pay 'em cheap, they are easy on the vehicles, and they don't require maintenance like the youngins'. Unless you know Larry Stewart or Mario are driving it home, I wouldn't worry. Of course, if you could get them to autograph the hood, I'd do that, too.

What part of Oregon do you live in? Last I heard, the United States was only 3000 or so miles across. Did you go from PA to Oregon via Hudson Bay?

I have a number of vehicles on my lot that I got via dealer trade that have well over 200 miles on them. Heck, I've got one Super Duty truck we got in a dealer trade and it's got 600 miles on it. It's not a big deal, and it's still a new car. You still have the right to refuse the vehicle after they get it if it doesn't meet your expectations. I have had this happen many times because the sales person doesn't go over the equipment list with the customer. Have him get the truck, and if you don't like it, don't take it. They can't force you to take it. Just don't sign a contract until you SEE THE VEHICLE.

Well, I went up and down quite a bit jumping between 80 and 90. Went through Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Seattle, and numerous other places including hitting the speed limiter in Montana with the top down (VROOOM!). It was pretty damn close to 5000 miles because I picked it up with 5500, and when I got home and registered it the next day, the registration milage was 10,200 or something. That was 4 years ago, and way too much fun to remember the exact specifics, but yeah, tons of fun!

It has the color I want, the size bed I want, and since towing my 6x12 enclosed trailer with two motorcycle in the trailer, and maybe one in the truck bed, is its main job, the Towing Package, along with the Heavy Payload package and 4:10 LS, going to make towing dam easy work.

First of all, I want to thank ALL of you for the super feedback I got on this. Later on down the line you all might wanna run me outta here, because I will be here a LOT!!
The head manager of the dealership called me a little while ago and told me to remedy the situation, he would have someone drive me to the dealership, and I drive my truck back myself. I will be at the dealership at 9am this Saturday, for the ride to pick up my baby.
I really do want this truck. It has the color I want, the size bed I want, and since towing my 6x12 enclosed trailer with two motorcycle in the trailer, and maybe one in the truck bed, is its main job, the Towing Package, along with the Heavy Payload package and 4:10 LS, going to make towing dam easy work.

Its no big deal. When we got the 01 they drove it up from PA to cleveland OH and 60,000 miles later its just fine.
200 miles in the long haul is nothing. Mine came with 4 miles, I did not cry and tell them I want one with 0 on it.
