Angry Changing CD's is irritating.......

I think someone at ford electronics was asleep at the wheel when they designed this thing. I am not sure if it is the same for all of the players, but changing the CD's in mine (audiophile system) is a pain!

In any of my other vehciles with a CD changer when you hit eject and hit the number of your choice it would spit out the CD and then give you 5 to 10 seconds to slide in a new one to replace it. Not this unit apparently! After spitting it out it immediately starts to load the next one in sequence. Then you have to hit load, wait for it to move back to the position it was just in and then you can slide in the new one. Augh!!!! With a lap full of CD's and trying to drive this can be very frustrating.

Sorry...I just had to vent.

Buy a new headunit and you'll be a lot happier, you could fit all your songs onto one CD and not have to worry about it.

And here, i thought i was the only one who thinks it is a joke how much of a pita it is to change cd's in the audiophile. I agree, but i also know i'll have to live with it, or pay to swap it out. damn.

Aside from the changing of CD's I am relatively happy with the system...although it does insert breaks in between songs when they are supposed to be blended together. Augh! I considered changing out the unit but I like having the steering wheel controls.

Hey Sick we have the same truck! Nice choice!

What would that run? I have been thinking of that and wondered if it would be worth the money? I don't want to change the look from factory and don't want to spend thousands for a fancy set up...

Well, you can keep the steering wheel controls with a new headunit. All you need is a Pac-Swix, Im pretty sure its $30 from Crutchfield.com.

It really depends. I bought a nice single din radio for $350 that played MP3s, sounded MUCH better than stock, worked flawlessly, and was also touch screen. However the double din headunit I have now was $1700 with the navigation and to me looks a lot more like stock because you won't have the gap below the headunit with the dash kit.

I don't know which head unit you have but my Audiophile plays MP3's so I took about 20 CD's and a few MP3's, ripped them with Media Player on Windows to MP3's and then copied 160 songs to one disc. I have over 11 hours and 23 minutes worth of music. I don't have to have more then a few CD's and I don't have to swap them.

Just a suggestion!

And what's wrong with that statement ? ^ If you need too change the cd in your truck " WHILE " driving when you already have " SIX " too choose from,
then your issues are greater than the stereo's design. A lap full at that.....
that's worse then " everyone " who thinks driving and talking on the phone go together of the vanity laiden girls ( and some fem guys ) who need to apply makeup while driving ..... Damnnnnnnnnn !!!!! put the music in ahead of time and drive .... or go buy a larger cd changer ...............

Pioneer DEH-P6700MP Head unit = $189 Awesome (Wal-Mart). Awesome HU, plays MP3's/WMA's. I have 250 songs on 1 CD. Done!

Organic display kicks a$$. I went ahead and replaced all 4 doors with Pioneer 3-Way 6 X 8 speakers as well and they are awesome. Also got them at Wal-Mart pretty inexpesive. The music plays 10 X better and the mid, highs and lows are great, even with these new speakers w/o a sub.

What's that? I'm trying to read this on the cell text, whoops, missed that one, gosh darn idiots should stay out of my lane, woo close one, whoops maybe this is their lane? Whatever, where's the send key, Oh, gotta go, someone's calling on the other line... Wow close one, kids should stay offa the sidewalks...

Seriously, MP3 is the safest thing on the road. I get about 10 hours a disk, and with that long you can leave it in two or three passes. So like I tell the wife, don't forget to change the CD this month...

I am sure you already know this, but just in case... If you hold the load or eject button for a couple of seconds, it will automatically load or eject every slot in the internal magizine. It took me about a year to figure that out. Of course it is probably in the manual, but who reads that!
