I will be sure to complain on the survey that Ford sends me. Charging $60 to fix issues that should have been fixed in the first place is BS...sounds like Ford has taken a page out of the Microsoft book of tricks!
I agree, if they all ran like mine did initially, there should have been a recall for the reflash. I would not have wanted my product out there running like that.

Incidentally, I got the reflash at about 3000 miles on my truck by telling the service manager that the truck had a severe lag when I tried to pass and it was going to get me killed(which was true). He never hesitated, said he could fix that. It really woke my truck up and improved the shifting. I now have about 14,000 miles on it.

We were discussing that some dealers charge $60 for a reflash if it is not covered by warranty.

The EAY4 is the latest flash. EAY4 = 4U7A-GRA and there is no update for this flash as of yet. See Link Below

My biggest problem is when I "tip in" on the gas just to maintain speed I get a hesitation that lasts for a while. I have the dealer saying the same thing, can not recreate. They are obviously always busy when I call and say it is doing it right now can I come by. They have reflashed it twice and the problem is not fixed. I have a friend with the Lincoln LT and he has the same issue, his is even worse because his transimission is bucking really bad when it shifts. They reflashed and no fix...he just got it a few weeks ago and it is an '06.

I am going to try the call that you guys recommended.
