Anyone here got a picture of a Lariat with a FX4 grill insert???

 

Do they not provide citizens in the Netherlands with an imagination?....

 

Kind of blew my mind too, guess you could take a Fx4 and Photocopy a Lariet badge on the side. Not sure why you would want that grill on a Lariet in the first place. But, who is to question what anyone does or does not like. That is why they make all the different ones.

 

Because the Lariat grill sucks, unless you like gold honeycomb of course . I am having a Fx-4 grill painted black to match my Lariat. I'll post a pic when it's done.

 

Let's see, on a Lariat it has the chome grill surround, so put an FX4 grill insert in that and voila, you have the XL grill. If you really want that look just order a replacement XL grill for your Lariat and it will come complete with chrome surround and will be a bolt on swap out.

 

King Ranch Grill is an option too, it's a chromed FX4 grill.

 

That is the dumbest thing I've heard. Why not buy an FX4 and replace the cluster with a Lariats. Are you getting one for the rear armrest (hope not).

I'm sure there was good enough reason for you to purchase your Lariat, but I just think it'd be cheaper if you converted an FX4. I love the honeycomb grill but that might be the dumbest thing you've heard. You could sale your grill and get an FX4 for cheaper I'd imagine.

 

It's been awhile since I visited this site and the first thing I noticed again was how negitive the posts are here when someone asked a simple question or ask for advice.

Has anyone ever heard of the concept of a person being allowed ask a question with out negitive comments?

The grill question concerning the FX versus Lariat grill is a matter of choice, and why shouldn't it be. One of the first things I did to my Lariat was to change out the grill for the more traditional Ford H-Bar grill.

That doesn't mean in any way that one grill is better than the other. That's why there are options, not everyone like's the same looks.

 

When I bought my Lariat I also made a deal with sales rep to order me at cost the King Ranch grill, KR running boards, KR bed rail and tail gate caps. My truck is white with Arz beige two tone. The grill and rest of the KR trim are also Arizona beige and look great! Never cared for the plain lariat grill myself. Truck looks great. If it stops raining, I'll post a pict...

 

They didn't have any black scab fx-4's on the lot or that is what I would have purchased. That is why I have the lariat package. So no I didn't really have a good reason for purchasing a Lariat. But it doesn't look like one anymore. Got rid of those wheels and the grill so I am happy with it now.

 

I like the fact that the painted surround on the FX4 grill makes it look so much smaller than the Lariat grill. That gold honeycomb just doesn't look very truck-like to me...but I can appreciate the fact that everyone has different taste. I guess that's why Ford makes so many differnt models!

 

No harm was intended by my post, so sorry if someone was. I guess I am the only one who likes the gold grill. We'll see when I get my truck tomorrow!!!! YES TOMORROW! I am flying there and driving it home, we'll see if I change the grill out or not.

You do realize the 04 XLs came with that very grille...chrome shell and FX4 style center.

 

I don't think that the XLs came with the FX4 grille, but the STX did. At least the XL shown in the 04 ads have the XLT style grille.
