Just a quick question. What was the condition of the tires when you rotated them? Were they in good condition when you rotated them, then 2800 miles later the threads were showing? If they wore that quickly it sounds like more of an inflation/alignment issue.

Great News!!!!

Went to another Ford dealer & told them of the problems I had at another dealership. Service Writer looked up the TSB's for my truck & low & behold...........a TSB addressing this exact issue. Service Writer contacted the "front end expert" & he said that he could fix the alignment problem in one hour. Tires had to be ordered & will arrive Monday. Appointment is 2PM Monday. Looks like I have a new dealer to give all my business to.......

Thanks for everybody's help here....... I'm so glad I discovered this place....... You people rock!!!

Glad to see you got squared away. Some dealer experiences vary. They aren't all buttheads, like I said, they're just held on a very tight leash by Uncle Henry.

You probably wouldn't appreciate it if someone not in the know came in and tried telling you how to do your job, would you?

Two sides of the coin in everything...

Thats one of the little annoying things of life...doesn't matter where you work or what you do for a living...there will ALWAYS BE someone who thinks they can do your job better. Just the nature of things....

Not a matter of thinking I can do a better job then somebody else, but more a matter of a Service Writer not knowing his job & not getting off his *** to find out if anything else can be done for the customer..................It literally took the new dealership 5 minutes to find out there was a TSB written for my truck.........For that lack of effort, they lost my business forever!!!!!

If they wound up being right I would feel like an ***......as I think this wound up being the case

Please lets stop feeling sorry for the "POOR" Ford service writer.........I know he's doing the best he can with the $39K I laid out for my truck. The pressure the guy must be under.......I don't envy him!

Hancook tires are made by kumho, a Korean manufacturer. So far their tires seem to be very well made. I have them on my 4-banger And are an economical alternative. Just to put my 2 cents. Congrats on getting the service done. I hate that "can't duplicate" crap they always pull. and yes some dealers seem like they actually want to do their job.I think the problem is that there are alot of people that try to abuse the system and get more and more for nothing and threaten to sue. That when someone genuinely has a problem they get overlooked as a problem waiting to happen. Which is a crappy way to do things but when people get burned over and over, they get very defensive about the possibility of being burnt again. Also sometimes they hire people that are clueless whose only requirement for the position is to count to five and have at least two teeth. Thank the heavenly stars that there are alot of FORD dealers around with actual human beings. Again, Congrats.

Sorry but no. Hankook is owned by Hankook Tire Co., Ltd., and is based in Seoul, Korea. Kumho tires are made by KUMHO Industrial Co., Ltd..

Both are diffrent tires and honestly both are crappy. The Kumhos are slightly better then the kooks but neather get within 10 feet of my cars. I stock a select few that are OE replacements. Other then that I try to talk people into a better brand of tires. Even the Cordvan by Kelly Springfield and the Republics by Good Year are better tires.

My fronts were cupping bad also. So when i installed my level kit i took it to Ford dealer he said my front end was way off specs. ( a $99 dollar front end alignment from dealer ) My truck had 5000 miles on it at this time they aligned it and walla no more cupping i have 25 k on it now. This tells me it was shoddy from the assembly plant. My 99 f150 had two tire rotations in its life. It had 60,000 miles on the tires when i replaced them . They wore even with no rotation and never a front end alignment untill i put new tires on . I like these new car dealers allways trying to blame owner and maintenence. Also i worked at a dealer for allmost 9 yrs myself but in body shop management. How many of us have driven the fronts off cars and only had to replace them saves money not having to buy 4 new tires.

Thanks for the correction info NICO. I just purchased a car that came with hankook tires. The tire booklet also had information and logo of Kumho. SO... I wrongfully ASSUMED that they were somehow related. I checked some websites above if anyone is interested in learning more of these companies (for whatever reason). I have had them for 10,000 miles with one rotation and have been a very comfortable riding, long lasting tire.(compared to my wifes firestone that came on her honda civic that needed to be replaced after 15,000 miles. So to me they are a good tire, no DRAG racers but everyone has different opinions in their quality. Some Love BF Goodrich, others hate them; some love Bridgestone revos, others hate them. And with today's merging in the markets it's hard to tell who owns what and who makes what. Such as the ford website.

who would have thought they even were remotely associated with some of these other automakers?? or how about chryslers crossfire being assembled at a Mercedes plant.? or 1991 geo metro with a toyota corolla engine?. mitsubishi with dodge? and so on. I appreciate when I can be corrected, it makes you well informed. Thanks.
