Question 4wd Lift Blocks Removed

I have a question for those who have removed their lift blocks on a 4wd. Have you had any problems? I am curious about the length of the shocks. Are the shocks "bottoming out"? Any information would be great. I have a set of 2wd u-bolts coming and would like to know what I'm getting into.

Nice! That looks good. Do the shocks appear to have full travel?

No problems bottoming out or vibrations. With the trailer on it, it drops just a little in the rear, but still handles extremely well.

well I did the opposite. I have a two wheel drive and put blocks in from a 4x4. I had to change U-bolts and nuts, the bolts are different length and diameter. During reassembly we noticed the stock 2wd shock was too short to span the distance at full droop, so I put a set of shocks on that we had laying around, they came off a new FX4. Side by side they appeared to be 2-3 inches longer than my 2wd shocks. Personally I would take this opportunity to upgrade shocks while your in there and have everything already apart. I would have done that if I had thought that far ahead.

Upgrading shocks is not a bad idea. Can anyone recommend a shock for this application? 4wd with 2wd rear ride height, non-adjustable, good ride quality & reasonably priced.

Thanks for the reply. To those checking this site it should be eshocks.com.

You bought 2wd shocks, correct? Thanks again.

No problems here. Even though my shocks haven't bottomed out, I am swapping my 4wd shocks for a set of 2wd shocks to keep things consistent. My 2wd buddy bought my blocks and needs the longer 4wd shocks to go with it, hence, another reason for the swap. You can see the truck in my sig and how great it looks with the rear aligned to the front now. I will eventually lower the truck properly with a Roush suspension kit. Good luck!
