Was a little difficult with one person... my 'creeper' came in handy though, very easy to manuver underneath the truck with one of those. I'll take a few pictures of the set-up underneath the truck tomorrow morning and upload them as well. No welding was needed, and everything went together fairly smoothly.
Hey another guy from Minnesota!!! I live in Minneapolis! So did you get the SIDO? Do you have the tow package? Can't wait to hear and see more about it. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being high and 1 being low. How would you rate your ability to hear it while crusing down the highway between 70 and 80 mph?

Thanks again,

Duke

I'm leaving work early today to install my 16614 Magnaflow dual rear exhaust. Can't wait!

Speedy - I'm looking forward to seeing your install pictures. Did you have any problems with the trailer hitch? If you tapped the frame, can you show a picture of the location?

Thanks.

Hey, alright, picture time! GO Minnesota! Yes, I got the SIDO setup, and I Do have the factory FX4 tow package. On your scale, I would rate the noice... 4 (if that). Or maybe I should choose Pi (3.14159) just to keep up my dorky engineer status. But I'm a young kid that listens to music too loud, so maybe my hearing is crap. Alright, enough talk, gotta start linking these pictures... then I better do some work, else I won't be able to afford anymore toyz for my truck...

My creeper, and the finished install.

Spare dropped out for easier install. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

OMG, this thing was huge!

OOoooo, shinny. Be sure to clean all your greese and crap you get on it while installing.

And tie wrap stuff that might hit the exhaust while hot.

A couple more pictures can be found in my gallery.

Hey SpeedyRacer,

Are you ever in the Minneapolis area, or better yet around 35W and 494W? I'm actually at Best Buy headquarters doing some work for the next few months which isn't that far away from you.

If you don't mind, or don't think it odd, I'd really like to hear how this thing sounds in person. I could meet you whever it's convenient for you.

If I decided to buy one, would you be willing to help with an install in exchange for some cash? I'd drive to you, I just don't have the necessary tools or experience.

Thanks,

F150 Duke

My sister works at BB Corporate too, small world . I'll keep you in touch when I plan on heading through the cities. I usually come up once a week to see my friends who are still in college. No prob with the potential install. Always willing to help. Prior lake is about 25 mins from your neck of the woods at BB.

magna flow BIG thumbs up!

I added a Magnaflow to my 2005 5.4 XLT and it sounds sweet, only loud when you accelerate, and its not a noisy, annoying sound. It is a sweet, throaty, rumble. Having the towing package did nothing to hinder my installation.

Thanks, yeah let me know because I'd really like to hear this thing before I drop $400 on it. Drop me an email at kuba0043@umn.edu whenever you'll be around BB or the cities. Shoot I'd even drive to where ever you were if it was convenient enough for you.

Thanks again!

Anybody have the magnaflow AND the air raid/af1 clod air kit. Can you hear the exhaust over the intake at wide open throttle or how does it compare (with windows up) ?

Has any one towed anything heavy with this exhaust, are there any rpm points where the exhaust kinda drones like the intakes do?

I'm considering getting rid of my air raid kit, doing the DYI version instead, and getting a magnaflow exhaust, as long as it isn't too loud.

Thx
Brent

no the magnaflow dose not drone at any rpm like the af1. I have complained about the sound of the af1 several times although sence it has cooled down outside it ns not hardly noticable. but I have not once complained about the magnaflow sound. if anything it could be louder without bothering me. I think it is perfect. you will be happy with it. the best way I can describe the sound is, at idle you can not hardly hear it only slightly louder than stock. but lay into it and you will hear it respond nicely. it is louder at wot but no drone like the intake dose at times.

Not the answer I was hoping for. What I want is something similar to the tone of a stock mustang. Not loud at WOT, just throaty. I have only heard the air raid, not the af1, but I would assume they about the same, and if the exhaust is louder than my intake at WOT, then I think it may be too loud for me. Loud once in a while to have fun when I am not towing or hauling stuff is great, but my intake sound gets annoying when towing up long hills.

I think you mis understood me I ment louder than idle not louder than the intake. it is definitely not louder than the intake at wot. sorry I think it is possibly slightly quieter than a mustang. it dose have a similar sound.
