Magnaflow installed!

Hey guys...thanks for all the help on deciding which exhaust to get for my truck. I ended up with the magnaflow dual exhaust straight out the rear. I love it. Sounds exactly what i wanted. Ordered it from hottexhaust.com saturday and got it and installed it today. Install was fairly easy. check it out..

Looks good. but I hope you wiped off all those greasy fingerprints before you starting using it! I think once the pipes heat it up it could cause stains in the S.S.?

Yes, your correct.

I've been told to actually use a good cleaner because the oil will still be there when the smudge isn't and will cause it to stain once they get heated up.

It looks like you have the factory tow package...did that cause any problems?

Yeah lets hear how the install went and what you did to get around the tow package.

Also can you hear it while cruising down the highway...or can you only faintly hear it?

I was skeptical about buying it because of hearing the problems people have had installing it with the trailer hitch but it wasnt really a problem. IMO it takes two people to install it. We had to drill and tap the frame for the last two hangers and make sure everything lined up. I love the sound...cruising you dont really hear it but it sounds great when you get on it. i reccommend it

Oh yeah forgot to ask....only problem i have is that the brake lines seem to rub the pipe a little. What should i put on it to protect them? I have a little bungy holding them up from hitting the pipe. Any suggestions? maybe the exhuast wrap? thanks

looks good, thanks for the info. i'd imagine you could leave the brake lines suspended with the bungees or maybe somehing else. i don't know if i'd trust them touching the pipe no matter what you wrapped them in.

Installed mine tonight too... got home around 5ish... looked at the directions awhile... went to NAPA got WD40, tie wraps and washers. Got home around 5:30... started working around 6:00... finished up around... 8:00. Was a little difficult with one person... my 'creeper' came in handy though, very easy to manuver underneath the truck with one of those. I'll take a few pictures of the set-up underneath the truck tomorrow morning and upload them as well. No welding was needed, and everything went together fairly smoothly.
