Talking Simple as P.I.E.!

Well when I arrived home I found a box with a couple of P.I.E. interfaces for my truck (order #24). Literally 15 minutes later my Ipod and Sirius tuners were hooked up to my truck and sounding great. This is one of the best things I have done so far.

I hooked the + & - to the cigarette lighter wires and I was off. You don't even have to pull the radio to make the connection for the interface. It sounds awesome and should have come Factory. Luckily the two I ordered were at the wrong price so I also got lucky on the price.

I am super impressed with LogJam electronics service. From the e-mails telling me the 411 on delivery and tracking numbers to the extremely quick shipping. I hope everyone enjoys!!!

Have you messed around with the input level adjuster? You say you bought two, did you use both of them? If so, how in the world did you connect them both?

The line level adjuster I messed with a little. When mine came it was at the highest setting and I backed it off to about half.

I bought two wanting to sell the second one. If you had multiple things to hookup you can use an RCA Y-adapter.

So if you used the Y-adapters, and both were plugged up (iPod and satellite), would the unit be able to use whichever one was powered up and "running"?

-Travis, who is ready to stalk the UPS man tomorrow for his P.I.E. interface.

The sound from the Ipod and the Sirius sound great they both sound like they are CD's,

Yes, if you used the adapter which ever is giving power would be the source playing. I actually had a long enough plug that was a 1/8" earphone plug (i think thats the sice) and RCA cord that I am just going to switch it between the Ipod and Sirius.

I am just so happy not to have to listen to the radio anymore.

That is **EXCELLENT** news. Mine came today as well but, I don't forsee it being installed for a couple of weeks... I'm so glad to hear that it sounds 'digital' now.

Does this unit charge the ipod, or is there something else that you have to purchase?

PIE FRD04-AUX 2004-Up Ford

This part will allow you to use the AUX button on the factory head unit and has RCA inputs....

I think you need another device to make the I POD charge.

If your going to use the iPod and iPod only you need the following.

PIE AUX adapter
Belkin 12v iPod charger/line out cable
RCA to 3.5mm mini phone jack cable
Cigarette lighter socket

Key steps

Install AUX adapter
Hardwire Cigarette lighter socket behind dash
plug Belkin into cig socket
plug rca to mini cable into belkin
set levels (on PIE AUX adapter and belkin) to match FM and CD sources
route iPod cable from Belkin to glove box or to center console
enjoy tunes
wonder why it took almost two years to get this?

I'm doing mine sometinme this weekend so I'll take pictures and post.
