Need a front license plate bracket, anyone selling?

Anyone here have a front license plate holder and a full brush guard?

I have a westin brushguard and soon I'll have to add a front license plate (moving back home to Texas). I was wondering if the factory holder will fit under the brush guard.

While I'm at it, anyone here have one that they want to get rid of?

Thanks, Jerry

I've heard that Texas was doing away with the front license plate law as of 9-1-05. I just did a search on the internet but couldn't find anything to confirm it though.

I have the manik brush guard and also have a license plate attached to the front of my truck. It works and fits just fine. Out of curiosity, why are you looking at the westin guard? The reason I ask is because all the product builders had to move the brush guard a couple of inches away from the grill to allow for the hood/grill to open . Manik built theirs with a swivel so the guard still hugs tight to the truck. Just something to consider.

my WAAG allows the plate holder, and also has a swivel to pull guard out to change headlights...hood opening clearance is just fine

That bill died in the House this summer gb. It passed with flying colors in Senate but apparently some heavy lobbying from 3M (makes the decals for the plates) got the bill killed....imagine that.

Per my understanding, the front license plate law was NOT one of the 755 bills that was passed by the senate and effective 9/1/05.

For a complete list of the new laws, go here:

http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/cgi-b...51283946819078

If anyone CAN find this law in the 16 pages of lawyer speak, please let me know!!!!!!!!! I wanna take my front license plate off my F150 VERY BADLY.

Umm...why would 3M lobby that? We don't put tags on our front license plates....or does the STATE put 3M decals over the raised numbers and letters?

thats it I didnt realize it either but those are decals over the raised numbers and letters. I guess they were looking at a loss of half their business from Texas and fought it hard. Believe me I heard the rumor about front plates going away and researched the hell out if it. I think they look like chit but we are stuck with them.

You could just pull up and then out and that will free the top and the just pull out ont he bottom.

Or

take off the lower trim and then side it out and up

My question to some of you if you did not get a front mounting braket do you have to have a front plate....

yea, state law trumps ford lol- if you bought your truck in a st. req'g dual plates, the dealer should provide the front mount free of charge.

Blazin',

Are you planning on getting rid of it after the removal? Hopefully someone around here has one sitting in their garage.
