Lemon?
Yeah I really need some talking into before I could buy another F-150. I'd have to drive it for at least a week before signing the papers. I really am losing faith in Ford as time goes on and more things start going wrong. I really hate that too because I've been a Ford man my whole life.
I hear ya man, but dont let one nad truck ruin it for you. I have had 6 Fords, my parents had a bunch. My mom still drives Ford, my brother and my sister drive nothing but Ford and nobody has ever had any problems like im having,,ever. I have faith in the Ford product, just not in my particular truck at this time. I think it would take a lot to get me to buy anything but Ford next time.

I will agree that the Tundra does ride much better, and is more powerfull by about 37 h.p.though the Tacoma is much lighter and actually will run with (or even pull)the Tundra from 0-60.
White smoke with the Tundra??? You must be powerbraking it.
Couldn't you just trade it in a lot easier than having to deal with all of the Lemon Law stuff. Are the problems so bad that your truck would take a hit on trade. I know that you are going to lose money by trading in sooner than you normally would, but I think it might be worth the peace of mind that you would gain with a new vehicle.

Taking a hit from trading it in early is ne thing, but taking a huge hit because FORD cant fix and E'fed up truck is just not right. Im in the same boat and honestly tried to trade it this past weekend but the hit was way to much, I mean come on, $17000 on a trade in, thats just crazy.

Question for anyone who was awarded a buyback. Im in the middle of the process now. The statement says they pay everything back except the taxes. Am I misreading something or is that true?
Thump- File your paperwork now....Ford Motor isnt going to do Sh** to help you.

Thumper- sorry about jacking your thread. Let me share with you my never ending saga with Ford. I sent this off to a friend today. It will give you an idea of what Im going through with Ford.
My truck is the California Edition which is really just 20" Roush wheels and a different grille. The dealer has figured out that its the wheels causing the
problem and they dont have a fix. So they advised me to go with arbitration and they would provide a letter stating that its the wheels. The good part is my local dealer is on my side. Unfortunately corporate ford says no fix.
So my wife and I went to Las Vegas this weekend in her 2005 Ford Explorer. We were about half way there when I see smoke pooring out from under the Explorer. I pull over and see tranny fluid all over trans and ground. While we were waiting for the tow truck I called the service manager handling my F150. He tells me that Friday he received a letter from Ford corporate stating that vehicles with my package will not be covered by Ford and that they must be redirected to Roush. I couldnt believe it. They sell a package deal but wont step up and warranty it. Im hoping that since this letter came out after I filed that it wont have a negative affect on my case.
So as we were riding into Vegas in the tow truck I asked the driver what truck he picks up the least. He told me that he hardly ever picks up Dodge's and Toyota's. He also told me that Chevy and Ford run about the same as far as pick ups.
I guess it was a long story but in the end I would recommend staying as far away from the F-150's as possible. If I can get a buy back on my truck I will be moving over to Dodge for trucks. I can also tell you that when my wife's lease is up on the Exploder she will be going back to a Honda Accord.
Im done with the new style Ford's

and..I got the Tundra to white smoke out of the dealer turning onto the main road. The Tundra might not have as good of turning radius as the Tacoma but what I was saying was it feels a lot better. The Tacomas steering feels wierd to me where as the Tundra feels just like my F-150. Just to add when I drove the Tacoma guess what it had!? Steering wheel nibble! Im sure as hell not buying a first year vehicle EVER again.
Im hoping right now that I could get another F-150 that has zero problems but I really don't know how good of a possibility that is..I dropped my truck off today and soon as they give it back unfixed of course, Im taking it to another dealer so they can't say I never tried another dealer and than Im going to get the lemon law papers going.
Todays Encounter
I dropped my truck off last Monday with a list of problems they needed to fix. The truck has been sitting at the dealer, until today when they called and told me I needed to pick it up because the parts they had ordered were on "national back-order." They expect the rear leaf springs and shocks to arrive on Thursday according to Ford. I go today to pick up my truck and take it home until they get the parts. I asked if they looked at anything that I gave them on the list and they couldn't give me an answer. Everyone said they didn't know. After reading ALL of my papers, I found out that they performed a "transmission overhaul" because of the clunking noise I was experiencing? Okay right but whatever thats fine. I looked at the paper and it said I dropped it off 8/22 which was correct but than at the bottom corner it said I had also picked it up on 8/22. WTF! So now my dealer is going to lie about when I drop it off and pick it up? They also told me the leaf springs were already installed on the truck when they don't even have the parts yet. So I basically told them I needed every single peice of paper that they have on my truck because they haven't been giving them to me when I sign the paper work to pick up my truck. I requested that someone higher than the service manager come and speak to me. Thats when they gave me all my paper work on what they have done to the truck. When I asked when it would be ready she said well assuming the parts come in on Thursday and I drop it off than, it'd be ready on Monday! WTF! I than asked why couldn't they get it done by at LEAST Saturday since all they are doing is the rear leaf springs and the shocks. She told me it was a very hard job and it would require many hours and more than one guy working on it. She tried to tell me they had to remove the bed to do the leaf springs? Is this correct? and she said that the 05 shocks are totally different than the 04 shocks? Can any Ford techs shed some light on this for me?
Well 2 days ago I called the dealer who I purchased the truck from since they are an hour and a half away, I don't take it to them for warranty work since this dealer is about 5 minutes away. Well anyways I talked to the person who sold me the truck which is now the Sales Manager. I told them about how they finacing department commited fraud against us and the problems we were experiencing with the truck. I also brought up that they didn't disclose that my hood needed to be repainted before I even picked it up. I asked him if they'd take the truck on trade just so I could get rid of it and he basically said that they would have to look it up on Oasis and would probally reject the trade because the truck is problematic!!! The guy was so scared, he was trying to stay calm but it wasn't working for him. He was just like oh uh uh this is way over my head uh uh. After a while of telling him the story he told me I needed to talk to the owner of the dealer. So the owner of the dealer calls and discusses everything that I had said to the Sales Manager. The owner was the most helpful person that I've dealt with so far. Apparently the financing guy who commited fraud was fired a few months ago but he apoligized and said he was going to do everything in his power to correct the problems or get me a new truck in a timely manor. He said they're was two programs Ford had for this type of thing. The owner has called every day since I spoke with him and some times twice in a day. If its going to be resolved, hes going to my hope. I don't want to disclose the name of the dealer only out of respect. However if they don't help me, they're going to get a bad rep.
