FX4&EXCURSION,

Yes it is 4 wheel drive. I don't do any off-roading so lowering it isn't a problem.

All FX4's are 4x4's. (my guess is that's what the "4" stands for)

I had lowering Shackles on my 2000 HD truck... And they are easy to install. THey would work on the 4x4... but changing out the block is a better option, because the shackles lower the back of the leaf spring and therefor cause the driveshaft angle to change... sometimes requiring shims.... So, if i was going to lower a 4x4... i would switch the block's out first and put in a shackle if i wanted it lower.
