Lower *** end?

First of all, great forum! Great resource for information on just about everything. With that said, I want to lower the *** end of my 05 KR and a buddy of mine bought the 2WD "U" bolts, removed the 2" spacer and installed the 2WD bolts cause the 4WD ran out of thread. is this the best way to lower the *** end?
Secondly, just a little FYI, I installed the AF1 last Saturday and haven't had a bit of trouble. The sound is awesome, even at WOT it is a nice low rumble. My filter is on the end of the tube as far as it can without "working" it's way off. Will update ya all as time goes on.
Thirdly, would like to hear from those of you who have Invisabra by 3M or equivalent and cost. Locally, I believe they are around $600, which seems steep to me but I am TIRED of rock chips and major bug juice!!
Thanks!
TC

Well, if it was a 2wd, drop shackles are the way to go.

But seeing as how your 4wd, How do you feel about raising the front 3"
Could be just as cheap. Ive done the junkyard u-both thing on a ranger to "pre-run" it more in the past, had no problems there either. May not be a bad way to go...

I thought about raising the front but I don't have plans of getting bigger tires til the stock wear out. With the front raised, there is too much space with the stock tires. If money were no option, I would put a set of 22's with Toyo Proxes, but, one mod at a time for now. Exhaust, nerf bars and xCal2 (depending on warranty issues) are next.
Thanks!

Pulling the blocks out works fine, but you’ll need the 2-wheel drive U-bolts as you said your friend did. When you go for bigger tires, you can reinstall the rear blocks again with the longer U-bolts you’ll already have.

and on the AF1

Looking to do just the OPPOSITE. I have a 4x2 and want to add the 4x4 blocks and u-bolts. Who's got them available?

I dropped my FX4 and it looks great. I put the Ground Force 2" shackles on and ended up needing the shims which came with the kit. My truck has the standard 17" wheels and tires. Now the tires fill the front and rear wheel wells perfectly. The tailgate is lower and easier to get things in and out of. The truck actually rides better lowered than it did stock. An alignment isn't required afterwards either.
