Galpin Ford...Truck Problems --
BTW...what is the Lariat option code? You should be able to look right on the option code sticker and see if it was born a Lariat or not, even if the VIN doesnt designate a difference. This is always the easiest way to spot a fake anything.
First off sorry for the lack of replies. As of now I have no pictures of my truck. But I will telll you what happened over these past few days. I did take it back to the dealer with my uncle who just happens to be a lawyer. We went in and explained to them what the problem was. The people from the dealership said that they would fix every problem I had to make it into a Lariat. But that isn't what I wanted since the resale value of the car would drop significantly compared to the cost at which I bought it at. So after literally hours of arguing back and forth they decided to just give me a real Lariat.
For those who were wondering everything about the truck seemed like a Lariat. From the gauges to the leather trim. Only difference was the air conditioning ducts for the backseats were different and I only found out when I went in to get it looked at.

If all this is true, that has got to be the worst dealer on the planet. Granted he should have known prior and gone over the vehicle with fine tooth comb before taking delivery, but still... that's one crappy dealer!
Rickyoh - glad you got it worked out and you are going to like your Lariat - I really like mine and get compliments all the time on how nice the interior is - I use mine for to haul around clients (CIO's, CFO's, etc) and they are all surprised at how nice the interior is "for a truck"......by the way I have purchased 3 cars in the past 5 years from Galpin and have always gotten a good deal....they tend not to be so "proud" of their new vehicles since they have a gazillion of them.....they must have had 200 F-150's to choose from on their back lot......anyways, you have me curious - was your truck actually misrepresented as a Lariat or did you just assume it was a Lariat when it really was not? Did they change the fender badges or state it was a Lariat? I find that hard to believe as the penalty for fraud is considerably more than the additional profit they might have made selling an XLT as a Lariat. Given that Galpin has been in business years and sells close to the most Fords in the US every year - seems like they wouldn't even bother trying to commit fruad......anyway enjoy your new truck!
A Lariat sells for what $2500 more than a loaded XLT? So I would asume a real Lariat would at most cost them $2000 more. How much would it have cost them to turn a XLT into a Lariat...including the labor to do so. I just cant see how it would have been profitable to do that.
One question though...what rear air condition vents are you talking about? Are they only on Lariats with the flow thourgh console? I have the 40/20/40 and I dont think I have any rear vents on my truck.

Great to hear things worked out. It's a shame it takes an attorney to pry honesty out of car salesmen.
Enjoy,
