water temp gauge?
I believe most people are using the coolant drain plug on the block, and it's on the drivers side face, rear part of the block, below the stock exhaust manifold near the collector flange (relatively)...it's just a hex plug.

I ordered an electric water temp gauge the other day. Will the mechanical and electrical gauge sensors mount in the same place? Maybe I'll just put it in the coolant overflow resevoir.

YOu can get a digital water temp by putting the message center in the diagnostic mode. To do that the truck should be off. Hold down the trip meter reset push button, then turn the truck on. There are various diagnostic things there, one being the water temp. I assume it must be in Celcius since I was monitoring mine yesterday and it never made it above 90.
There is an oil readout in there as well, however mine just sat on 0.
