Exclamation before mod'ing, you may need to turn off the radio and remove the keys

I have said this before and want to repeat this to all members here who own one of these new body style trucks as I read warranty and all and from time to time see this and think about my family here, please remember this thread next time for what ever reason you are out in the garage, sipping a cold one and modding the new truck. Please turn off your radio and remove the keys from the ignition to PREVENT creating a defective front seat due to unplugging the wiring live and causing the module in the front seats to blow. If and when for what ever reason you remove your seats weather it be to add an amp, run speaker wiring, and new MODS. They are there as a design to measure weight for the ever needed use of your airbags to determine the amount of force based on weight of occupant.
I just found this post interesting and something a LOT of us (you perhaps?) should think about and/or practice. Credit goes to ShowYa on this thread.

Good tip, I always pull the neg cable before pulling my seats, as I don't want air bag trouble.

I'm not quite sure what he is talking about here......if my key is in the ignition even in the off position and I unplug seat, it blows the control module for weight sensing??? Makes the airbags go off?? What exactly is going on in his description? If you really read it and think about it, it is kind of random. Maybe I'm just slow...

Put the key in and make sure the ignition is all the way back into the off position.

The ONLY, I REPEAT ONLY time you should leave key on is if you drive your mother in law around.
