true I could understand the whole medicine thing, but these are pieces of plastic how different can they be. I mean, I did a cai on my gt and really didn't notice to much of a difference except a cool little noise, and that thing was pretty straight forward, plastic tube, hide the air filter in the fender, slap a name brand on it and wow I just paid $200 for my piece of plastic,awsome!
And these cai, exception for volant are exposed to the heat from the motor, so isn't that kinda hurting performance untill you get on highway. I dont know, once I see true dyno #'s all performed on the same dyno not different dynos different trucks is when I'd buy into it (as far as the 4.6 is concearned, 5.4 is different).

jpdadeo -- BTW, did a search, can't find the post you were referenceing w/respect to the R&D you say Mike did w/air intakes & the 5.4 3V. Found snippets where he mentioned nor recommending the Volant due to lean issues, but no HP #'s for the Volant 5.4 3V. If you can find it, I'd like to see it just out of curiosity, and the fact that I think it would be helpful info to anyone trolling this thread. Thanks.

You keep bringing up the R&D and making claim to "numbers" that have been established, but you won't follow through on where, exactly, one can FIND the "numbers". We have gone from a "post" to "spread out over many posts". What is that all about?
I'm not dissing the AF1 (or any other intake, home-made or otherwise), but I'm just getting tired of having it "sold" without any hard-core proof (that you keep offering up but don't seem to be able to provide). I'm sure Troyer has run the #'s, etc. But I just wish that if you are gonna keep making claim, that you can provide the info w/respect to comparison to the AF1.
Saying to "call Troyer" is a cop-out on your part. If you want to bring it up, then prove it with the numbers that you are claiming have been posted. If they have not been posted, then YOU call & provide them. I can tell you right now that many of us will appreciate your efforts and will be more than happy to express our gratitude.
Otherwise, saying that you are happy with your AF1, and the performance gains you got, and the customer service you got from Troyer will be MORE than sufficient to prove your point. We all know that Mike has a stellar reputation and does his homework with complete R&D. NOBODY is disputing that, and we all respect him and are appreciative to him for his R&D and products he make available to us for our trucks.
It is also noted and established that you are a VERY happy Troyer customer -- and that goes a long way as well.
