4x4 Vibration (Lifted)

Hey everyone,

I have a fabtech lift kit on my truck, and when i put my truck into 4x4 it seems to have a really bad vibration untell i get up to about 30mph then it seems to go away.

I assume this has to do with the front driveshaft?

I though the fabtech kit can with somthing so that this does happen, is that correct? Should i go back to the shop that put my lift on and ask them to fix it?

Thanks,
Nick

I just tried the 4H yesterday at different speeds and I did not notice any vibration or noise.

Check the driveline angle. You may have to shim the transfer case to drop it down and bring everything back into line.

The front driveshaft has to be modified.

The teeth have to be shaved down on the spline. It comes with very detailed instructions from Fabtech, I even called tech support to see if I could do it myself. Well of course they said I could. Just to take my time and anyone with a dremel can do it. I'll take it to a pro.
Because you still have to have it rebalanced after you shave it down.

A driveshaft place can do it for around 50-100 bucks.

I had my done for 75 with a ten dollar tip and a quart of BUD. Plus he showed me how to do it.

This will elminate the vibration problem.

I would ask if they performed that service and then ask who rebalanced the front drive shaft if they say they did the work. Typically only a driveline shop has the equipment to balance a shaft.

Hope this helps.
