While its only been 2 days, my mileage has gone up 1 MPG. At that rate, the XCAL2 should pay for itself after only 200 or 300 gallons of fuel savings...

Compare Superchips to XCal2?

Have any of you tried both the Superchips programmer and the XCal2? Is there much of a difference between the two?

The XCAL2 is actually a Superchips tuner. It's basically a Superchips tuner that has custom tuning loaded into it. Most on this site choose to have Troyer Perf do the tuning, but the product itself is actually made by Superchips. Since the normal tuner has "generic" tunes & the Troyer XCAL is tailored to your vehicle VIN# & computer code, I believe it is probably a night & day difference between the two but I am not certain. Call TP & ask them, they sell the regular ones as well.

I would post this question to mike troyer in the chips section, he is good about answering these questions. Kinda curious myself.

You send him the code from the computer in your vehicle and he tailors the tune to this code. They won't tune anything with out this code. How they use the info from that code is a mystery to me since the only thing I know about computer is surfing the internet, basic photo stuff, MS Office & free cell. Each code is specific to a vehicle. As it has been said before, call them. You will be pleasantly surprised to find they are a company that actually thinks good customer service should be standard operating procedure. Unlike 90% of the companies out there that just want your money, Troyer Performance struck me as a company that actually cares if you are satisfied with their products.
